Circus-Maximus Diplomacy Guidelines

Diplomatic status

Heirarchy from greatest to least:

Full Ally with FFX and RST exchange
The ultimate in trust; two(+) races working as one.
All acts are for all outward appearances to be in the best interest of alliance.

Full Ally with FFX and no RST exchange:
Two(+) races working together but they don't fully expose themselves.
All acts are for all outward appearances to be in the best interest of alliance.

Limited Ally via ffx:

A military alliance that allows protection from combat and minefields.

PHost has the command processor which modifies the above rules slightly.

NAP = Non-Aggression Pact:
Border = defined line(s) or area(s).


NAP without Border:
Two or more players have agreed to be non-hostile but haven't defined areas of exclusion.
Hostility anywhere is a violation of NAP

NAP with Border:
Two or more players agree to be non-hostile to each other and establish border(s).
Crossing border without permission is a breach and often ends NAP.
Hostility outside defined borders can happen without violation.

Neutral:
Haven't made any formal commitments.

Enemy:
Everyone else.

Treaty Duration:
Unlimited = Game Long
Limited = For a set # of turns, till a specific turn #, or a specified condition.

Trading:
Trading can have nothing to do with diplomatic status. Trading is the exchange of
assets between two parties whether or not they are allied, NAPs, neutrals or enemies.


Game Framework

Unlimited: (No holds barred)
The game has no diplomacy restrictions, anything goes.

One Ally with non-ally Cooperation: (Mercenary game)
One Ally addon is in use.
The spirit of this game is that you have ONE Full or limited ally at any one time.
The exchange of any asset (ally or enemy) in trade is legal.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend for now, with coordinated attacks outside alliance allowed.
Borders, NAPs, military coordination (ally or enemy) is legal.

One Ally with NO non-Ally Cooperation: (Gemini)
One Ally addon is in use.
The spirit of this game is that you have ONE Full or limited ally for the game
and no exchanges of anything with a 3rd party. Coordination outside of the
alliance is against the letter and spirit of this game. Pregame alliances
between two players IS legal. Borders, NAPs, military coordination or ship trade with non-ally is illegal.

No Ally with non-Ally Cooperation: (Nationalist)
No Ally addon is in use.
The spirit of this game is that your race dislikes everyone else. No player is
permitted to have any alliance with another player. The goal here is to win alone.
Players are permitted to trade assets, create NAPs and establish borders.
Coordinated military goals are legal.

No Ally with NO non-Ally Cooperation: (Xenophobia)
No cooperation of any sort is permitted.
No NAPs, No Borders, No exchanges, no coordinated military, nothing.
