Encyclopedia Galactica
Version: v1.10
Type: Shareware
Author: Zachary Gray
Homepage: n/a

Publisher Description
Encyclopaedia Galactica is designed to address the player's need for sophisticated information of a predictive nature.

The things that Galactica does, though, it does much more efficiently than most of us can with a calculator. The Planetary Economic Simulator, in particular, provides in a few seconds the kind of comparative simulation which it might take some hours to accomplish the hard way. The only major exception to the calculator mentality of Galactica is the inclusion of the Mission Order Reference located on the Main Help menu. This is a truly invaluable reference which takes most of the guess work out of your planets strategies.

Heading
Version: v2.0
Type: Freeware
Author: Holger Schlegel
Homepage: http://www.spocks.de
Publisher Description
Main task of HEADING should be to 'reduce' the course of any ship in that way that it has no course after the next host run. The effect is that this ship has no waypoint on scanners of other races. So it's harder to guess where it comes from and where it goes to on which way. With the aim that the user has not to restore the original flight courses manualy each turn, Heading stores the targets in a data file in phase 2 and restores them in phase 1 of the following turn.

Intelligence Report
Version: v1.10 beta
Type: Freeware
Author: Thore Schmechtig
Homepage: n/a

Publisher Description
Exploration. Sensor Sweep. Bioscanners. Super Spy. Dark Sense. Many ways to gather information about planets you do not own.

A built-in notepad (thanx Tim :) ) to store all this information. Very good. But did you ever try to, for example, edit the notepads of about 100 planets you just scanned via dark sense? And if so: Did your hands ache terribly, just like mine did?

If yes... then you understand why I wrote this program. It scans all the messages you got last turn from the host and picks out the ones containing planet informations. If it finds such a message, it copies the relevant data into the WinPlan notepad for that planet.

Tyranny
Version: v1.3
Type: Shareware
Author: Timo Kreike

Tyranny will read your game data and compare your empire to all other empires using easy ratios and percentages. It will keep track of the maximum number of ships, planets, starbases. It will also show you the differences between the game data of the previous turn, the current game and the maximum number of ships, planets etc. recorded.

UFO4VPA
Version: v2.21
Type: Freeware
Author: Peter Ratschitzky
Homepage: The Home of UFO4VPA

Publisher Description
The purpose of this program is to enhance the abilities of the player client VPA. Many good players use this client to make better and faster turns. But VPA has some disadvantages/bugs and therefore players have to use WinPlan and other 3rd party utilities (like EchoView by Stefan Glasauer.) to get the information VPA can't give them.

Well known disadvantages of VPA are:

  • no UFO information
  • unreliable minefield information
  • no 50+ target support with WinPlan RSTs

UFO4VPA can fix these problems and, additionally, gives many other useful information that WinPlan can't give you. WinPlan only users can use this program, too. But to get most out of the information you should use VPA instead.

UFO4VPA analyses many binary files that are extracted from your RST. It then rewrites your 'MDATAx.DAT' file. You can read these new messages with WinPlan or VPA but the real purpose is to provide this information to the VPA message parser. VPA will then draw many new markers on the map screen.

UFO4VPA will remember all enemy ships (hulls) you can see on the map. It will also extract the armament data of surviving enemy ships from the VCRs. This should give you an overview about enemy fleet/ship strength.

Microsoft Excel is required to view this document.
