Re: NF97 - End at turn 100, or play past turn 100?

I am good with ending the game as well. It is over for the Bot Fas Reb alliance. Has been for a long while. I will be traveling next two weeks and would not be able to do justice to the turns anyway.

Akshamu, thanks for being a loyal ally.

Grats to the winners.

Re: G300 - Invasion Scenario

Greetings 300 Dropping players is a problem in all games, but I agree it is a much bigger problem in the invasion scenario if HW points are awarded for EARLY drop outs. Picking a purely arbitrary number of turns, I would say Kill Race should be used for anyone who drops out during the first 30 turns...

Donavan Your point is well taken, however, practically speaking that is exactly what is currently happening. Almost every game I have joined has had multiple players quit early in the game. Yet, they continued to play or even join other games. This at least suggests to me it is not "real life" issue...

KISS Method While all the suggestions being offered to react to players indiscriminately dropping one game in favor of others, I prefer the KISS method first. Keep It Simple Stupid for those not familiar. I am suggesting we try adding No Quiters to the game description and include a statement that b...

Let me be the first to say I would never be in favor of penalizing those with real life issues. And if I encounter real life issues and have to quit playing VGA, the absolute last thing I would be worried about is Havok penalizing me. That said, the quitters we are discussing bail out of one or more...

VGA Frustration

Having just read the post about newbie games and mentoring, it started me thinking about another kind of game I would like to see. To me the most frustrating games to play in are those where multiple players quit. They play for a while and perhaps are not happy with their location, beginning planets...

Donovan Donovan Donovan Step 1 - colonize loads of planets ASAP Step 2 - do a kamikaze attack on the nearest enemy homeworld And it's game over. If it were only so easy! Presumably, the other two teams are doing something as well. So much depends upon Race selection, starting cash, starting minerals...

Although we cannot immediately take part in a new game, I would make the following suggestion to the set up. Each team should be able to select their HW locations in order to take best advantage of their race selections and the planets within their sector. HW selections would have to be within confi...

This will be my last post on subject, but I wanted to respond after reading a couple of the posts. To Six, I will state I am not angry. I agree it was a victory within the rules. Nevertheless, Six goes on to point out the victory conditions were a big mistake which should not be repeated. This is ex...

Frankly, this victory is not within the spirit of the game. There will be no congrats from me. To be honest it was mostly a waste of everyone's time and especially Havok's. I would have had much more respect for the team if they had objected to the victory conditions while pointing out the flaw. Evi...

I agree with Fexer and make the following suggestion. I think the custom map should be created and assigned 3 zones. Each team should be able to pick their respective homeworld's within their zone, which is fair for everyone and assures an equal "positional" start, given chosen races. I think Team 3...

Havok If Bane and Krait have interest and the time, you may have a 3rd team, if there are enough slots. In terms of balance, I have one concern with the configs mentioned. I am thinking the Fed ability to refit ships may also need to be turned off. Perhaps give them 100% mining ability to counter ba...

Yes the Empire should build new bases as soon as they have the cash and minerals available in order to get their free fighters. However, you must still keep an eye on the mineral balance to not undermine important ship construction.
