Re: Which race is the easiest to play

Colonies for sure.

Fed is very forgiving, but sucks endgame, so my 2nd vote went to Rebel. Some minor sweep shortcomings, but Rushes can ignore a lot of minefields, has a good minelayer and Falcons are super awesome. Plus stronger economy.

poor Cardno. All that hate, and he is only missing 1 turn in 5 on average!

Re: Stick a fork in this one

the most badly broken alliance I could think of is actually not an alliance at all!

I have not yet tested the finer points of it, but a non-allied, but cooperating Robot-Privateer pair should have the most insane trick they can pull in a game with Jupiter.

Re: Stick a fork in this one

Like I say, either of you on your own you're of no concern, as I have means and ways of getting around most of the issues. However when we look at the shear size of your combined forces, and the combining of specialist race abilities, then the balance of power shifts to you, hence why I said the ou...

Re: Stick a fork in this one

Agreed. The Crystal oscillators don't scare me, neither do the anti-matter missiles or the web-mines, however the shear bulk of the combined crystal and rebel forces is probably too much to take on and prevail. But they should, really. I used three in the Robot cluster to break the spine of his def...

Re: Stick a fork in this one

thank you. Big part of the motivation for this game (at least for me) was people ranting about the oh so overpowered cybernauts after we won The Pit 1 with Robot + Colony. I guess we will have to see what the Birdmen have to say. Quick question: Did you planet-strip in the Robot's home cluster? Aver...

ouch, that gotta hurt

3 cubes, 1 golem and 1 firecloud lost at the cost of 146 fighters and 200 supplies. Gotta love Jupiter :)

I _almost_ ran out of bases that had PBx codes set.

edit: oops, forgot about 140 fuel that were spent

Yes, I know. But he is out of buisiness for the last two years. I have the sources and ported them so that they work with the latest VPA. He did respond to a planets related question not that long ago. Havoc's power games shiplist came from him, from some backup of games he played at Spaceport Hamb...

Re: Centauri Legacy Obelisk addendum

totally not how it works, with sending out rsts.

Your Winplan version is VERY outdated. I suggest you update, and check that rst again.

and of course, you would send that rst to me privately, I'm just curious, and would look at it with various clients.

Re: Centauri Legacy Obelisk addendum

I think you are somewhat confused. Centauri Legacy does not do anything to xyplan.dat (aka 'the starchart').

It does something to xy-coordinates of ships, but those should be the same 'globally'. Care to share the rst? What client are you using?

Re: WHY CARDNO?! WHY?!

Sorry I dropped. Wife fell down the stairs two weeks ago and fractured her foot. Been pretty immobile and I have been picking up a lot of the 'kids' stuff. Then last weekend she had a minor case of Deep Vein Thumbosis. Life has been scrambled to say the least. With Easter Friday, i'm all out of syn...
