Pypes is a good tactition and very adaptive - stuff that was messing him up early on doesn't cut it now, forcing me to adapt too. It's been a good fight. I think Pypes would have a lot of fun here. Maybe the three of us should spend the rest of the game going after the Crystals and Pirates? I still ...

Yes, as soon as the Navgap game is over (feels like Neil is sort of giving up, or busy with life really) I will join another one here. Something with a custom map, we'll see what's in the bag then. Hope you can make it in then as well! We'll see, if it'll be over by turn 75, ...I guess so. Overtaki...

I opened this up because I thought you were talking about the game I'm in, No Frills 14. Every game I've ever played, there's always one (or two).....

...or a cloaking popper??? To me it comes down to a little more hitting power in the mid range and high end to make the Klingons at least comparable to the other races. Not too much on the Vickie, maybe a little more mass, cargo and another tube or two, and either beef up the Deth Spec wit...

In the end I'm not sure I'm completely sold on the mechanics of the ladder. I'm playing No Frills 14 with the idea of trying a few things out, as it's never the same in a real game as it is in a sim game against a C-player. I will either do better than I have ever done or get my butt whooped by turn...

Well, compare an Ill-Wind with 4 tubes to the Fed second-string ship, the Missouri, and I'm not sure it's that far out of line. Just sitting back and dreaming.... :D

Hi Hannef. Sometimes "real" life can throw something unexpected, so there are legitimate reasons, but seeing 2 Klingons disappear after turns 2 and 4 in two games made me wonder. We need a "School of Klingon Planetary Domination" to get more players interested in and profiient at playing the Klingon...

Actually it was hosted by another guy at the office that got us all playing. It was my first "real" game after a couple of practice games. We were all pretty new. Don't worry - I won't be doing that again....

Cheers

Where are all the REAL Klingons???

No Frills 13 and 15 just lost their Klingon players and both games are maybe a week old! What gives? I know there is a lot of talk about the Klingons being a hard race to play, but to be out by turn 3?????

OK - thanks. Maybe we were being overly meticulous, but I won one of those games and placed 3rd with my ally coming in first in another. It did make things a bit of a drag though. The 4-way alliance was when I was pretty new at it and we were all in the same office (just like the one mentioned above...

OK so if you don't mind me asking, how well did the alliance work? My ally and I were talking to co-ordinate pretty much every move in one game I can think of, lining up battle order for mixed fleets etc. Time consuming but very effective.

Alliances are a whole subject themselves. I purposely didn't take any allies in my current game and I had more fun than some games where I've been in a 2 or 3 way (or once, 4 way) alliance and spent half my time emailing or MSN'ing back and forth to decide what we had to do next. I'm in 4th place as...

That's one of the interesting things about Planets - you can be bashing the frap out of each other one game and allies in the next. The only thing I will carry over from one game to the next is if somebody has proven himself to be untrustworthy.

Well - you know how family reunions can be - sometimes friendly and big hugs, sometimes boring, sometimes all hell breaks loose. I haven't actually had any dealings with Johnny in the Navgap game so we have no history there - no telling what happens this time though......

Cheers

Is that the same Angry Johnny that is playing a game at Navgap? 'Cause this is the same Gilgamesh.
Cheers
