Yes, I also prefer the all enemy games. That also keep the time to do turns more reasonable.

Leaving all default should be ok, as there is really not that much idea in tuning the races as map position would be some sort of lottery.

Have you considdered how much diplomacy you want to have in this game?

Looks like the debate did take a new turn when I was editing my previus post to answer those above. Yes, on a small map the strenght between races is likely to be different than usual. I predict the cyborg to die pretty fast as there probes is not really usefull, as they lack time to assimilate plan...

Well, he asked for comments :) Hopefully he can prove me wrong in the future. Nothing I like more than a good fight against a worthy opponent. Your argument of what you have done in a single game is not really valid. Just beacuse I reaced a score of a million in 50 turns with lizard in a single game...

Rimstalker: The manual is just describing what a the Birds should try to do and that is usefull enough, but for them to do it is another matter. Other races can do a lot to counter the birds strategy and my point is, that in many cases the bird can do little if there enemy know how to counter there ...

Birds need a finansial boost like 140 tax rate and perhaps 1 or 2 free fighters for defence. Birds are very good against less experienced players, who have truble fighting something they can not see. Unfortunenly the birds is rather week against more experienced players. In the later stages of the g...

VGAP is not a short term game where playing a bad position is just an evening or week's worth of effort; it is months and years. Playing a long game with little hope of winning is long term dreary. I could more easily support harsh consequences for game dropping if VGAP was a huge, vibrant and grow...

When you join a game you agree to play to the end! Sometimes RL can force players to drop and that is unfortunently, but that can happens to everyone and that is live. Other times players drop due to very poor planning, like joining a game just before going on vacation. That is annoying as a dropped...

Probaly you already tried something like this. What about High Command send a working HW game directory to Havok all files included. This will show if it is hardware or software who is causing problems. If it work when Havok runs it he can replace his files with the ones received. This is how a pers...

Yes, the ideas behind arena was really good. Having a tournament scenario like arena would be great! Figuring out the lenght of the scenarios/cluster size/victory condition etc. would as I see it be first part of it. Once the scenario setup had proved itself it can be used with alternative shiplists...

First of all, you did not miss any turns so far. Comming due date wednesday due to impressive speed with the first turns. Computer problem sucks so I have send Havok a pm on your behalf and asked for the game to be stalled. Assuming you will be back soon? It will cost the rest of us nothing, as you ...

Too many have grown soft and fat from the designs of those who think the Klingon a weak and pathetic race in need of unfair advantegeous of a more powerful shiplist. They do not understand the nature and strength of the Klingon Empire nor what it means to be Klingon. They are not worthy of Stovacor...

Witout the FED bonus team 2 is at a obvius disadvantage to team 1 and 3. Since team 2 only have the Virgo 8-10 they are not much stronger in combat and they lack the capability to take bases witout fighting. Team 2 might be the easiest to play to there full potential, but might also be the weakest o...
