Re: Winplan under Windows 7

edit says i found the mistake - ccbsim works now ! :D You could do others after you a favor by describing how "playvcr doesn't work, too." looks like, and what you did to fix CCBSim it. Heck, if it's something I can fix in CCBSim and/or PlayVCR, I might even directly implement it there... Otherwise...

Re: Alliance rules clarification

I just got an ingame message of someone who is "looking for potential allies or at least NAP agreement s ". I told this person that NAPs are limited to one per person and that they end at turn 30 and that alliances are completely forbidden. My concern is that someone else might be also confused abo...

Re: PHOST Q&A Forum

Otherwise, create a file "C:\Program Files\PCC2\resource\cc-res.cfg", and place a line "wpvcr:d:\path\to\your\wpvcr.dll" in it (replace "C:\Program Files\PCC2" and "d:\path\to\your" as needed, of course). If like me you've done the above but are still getting the solid circles fighting the open cir...

Re: Winplan under Windows 7

I've been running the 32bit Winplan for about 13 turns now and several others in our game are running it as well. There is some sort of glitch that keeps causing bad turns. Ships dropping stuff on planets that they don't have. A friend simply went to the ship in question and redid its actions resen...

Re: T-Flak Combat

The only think I can think of that it might be is that perhaps the FLAK server is keeping references open to the files so that they cannot be included in the zip and sending process. This is definitively not the case because FLAK server cannot keep files open after it terminates. Plus, it opens fil...

Re: PList 3.2 Tips

You need a Mate ship with either "ChunnelTarget" or "Chunneling" ability. Bridgekeeper can be the Mate, but the Raveger at level 0 cannot be the mate. Precisely. "Chunneling" is three things in one. - "ChunnelTarget" -- act as a partner in a chunnel - "ChunnelSelf" -- initiate a chunnel to a partne...

Re: T-Flak Combat

I agree, some sort of history would be nice. streu, can I get the file structure of flakX.dat somewhere? I could make a small prog for saving the ship specs for now at least as text.. or something like that. Pseudocode, recited from memory and code. Main file structure: struct file { header h; batt...

Re: T-Flak Combat

The file sent is working well. Within Winplan, I opened the VCR (- PCC2 VCR is set to open). Battle looks pretty cool, very different than usual VCRs. Unfortunately only one on one battles so far. I'll report when multiple ship battles happen. Should be soon 8) You can set up sims :-= When I closed...

Re: Host run when all turns are in ?

I'm all for a AutoTroll replacement. If you need a beta test Stefan LMK. Actually, I'm looking for beta test players who tell me how it sucks: http://planetscentral.com/host/game.cgi/1-First-Steps :-) The host is probably not (yet) usable as an AutoTroll replacement, it runs as a backend server to ...

Re: Host run when all turns are in ?

I'm not saying to play 2 or more turns a day. Just to run it when turns are all in and only then. Yesterday for instance, the turns were all in but it was 2 hours until the host ran. I've recently built a host server, so my solution to this problem was: if all turns are in, host runs earlier. Howev...

Re: T-Flak Combat

Same problem here, ship to planet combat but no vcr file :( . Please double-check your game directory. Is there a "flakX.dat" file in the game directory? Usual clients (that, at the time of this writing, includes not only Winplan, but also PCC2) do not show this in their main screen ("1 visual comb...

Re: Checksum corrector?

I was wondering if someone could write a (simple, small) DOS executable that corrects Winplan's checksums. I know it can be done through Tanascius' tool and via PCC, but I'm looking for a simple program that I can run from a batch file. PCC doesn't satisfy the request for a simple program, but it c...

Good idea. It's also better to remember that minefields destroy each other. No need to remember that PHost solves quartic equations to do that.

Re: Donovans mine formula

How does the host deal with 40 steps of 1.25 ly. It calculates the chance of hitting a mine for a single step (0.0125 in this case?) and then does the normal math? So your example would be: (1-0.0125)^40 = 0,6045 instead of (1-0.01)^50 = 0,6050 Because if so, my sheet needs to adapted a bit :) Yes,...
