Ghost web mines

Situation:
Three ships on mine sweep missions hit web mines. They were not inside an ion storm. There are no host messages saying they were passing through web mines. There are no host messages saying web mines were swept. No web mine field appears on the star-map near the struck ships.

Is this a host error? Is it likely to continue?

Yes. Ships in other areas of the map, where web mine fields are visible, generated the usual reports on distance to mine sweep range and number of enemy mines.

However, the ships that reported web mine hits did not report the field (which also does not appear on the map). They only reported hitting web mines. These ships were stopped, drained, and damaged - the only evidence of a field.

Mystery solved:
A distant small ion storm pancaked and covered area where the ships hit web mines. It is now so large, I missed it.

Thanks for your time, but I have my answer.
