Send an email to Donovan and see if he has an alternate?

No problem, I'm glad it still works.

What are you trying to get a look at?

Six, here is another example why you should be running Echoview. This is from the EV help:
Battle Simulator

The battle simulator is only available if, for HOST games, PACT.DLL (written by Chris Holz, distributed with EchoView, originally written for the battle simulator PACT by Jan Klingele, Chris Holz, and Timo Kreike), or for PHOST games PCOMBAT.DLL is installed in the same directory as EchoView (or somewhere on the search path).

The PACT battle simulator is not yet released.

To add a ship, press one of the buttons SimL or SimR in the ship dialog. The ship will be added to the left or right side, respectively. You can change all values given in the dialog.

Currently, only ship-to-ship battles can be simulated.
Pact32e.dll is part of Echoview 32bit and you use EV for running the sims also.

I would however say that you should skip all this and just use Tanascius Tool. It does battle simulations and is very easy to setup. You can even have multiple enemies and ships. It also does like a 100 sims and then give you the avg, min, max outcomes.

Bitmask,

Firstly i need to stress to you how much i appreciate your input

Secondly, i reiterate, my last few attempts to get echoview running ended with me doing ](*,) and as such it gets a big  and for the record i have had it function previously, but many years ago.

I really do like winplan, and its only limitations to me are the restricted amount of colours available. What i could do with, is the ability to mark my planets with say, a coloured star, or X. This is so i can tell at a glance if the planet has excess of one mineral, or needs it.

I will give Tanascius a go, but late next week, as i am off interstate on thursday to visit Lucky. I use to use thirdparty tools infrequently, but they were handy to have when the situation arose. One of the most useful, that i not longer have was a minefield calculator.

PACT looked like my sort of tool, and once on the trail, i needed to follow it to the end

Once again, thanx for the info, more bits to the puzzle so to speak.

:) I know I'm not going to convince you otherwise about EV. So the only thing I can do is give you grief about it

I think you will find Tanacius very useful. (And it works well with Winplan)

It does Battle Sims (including against planets), Mine Sims, Minesweeping Sims. It checks your commands for stupid errors. It saves you fuel by moving your ship to Warp Wells, it moves ships so that other players cannot see the destination if it will take more than 2 turns. It does Autobuild of structures & Autotax (better that RandMax or any other tool imo). You can undo something you did in Winplan (Like builds/buys/etc.). It has a ship cost calculator. Randomise FC. Mine hit calc.......

Well, you get the idea. It's great 8)

I see another guide brewing here.....

Six,
I don't recall if I have asked before, but have you tried PCC?

I've loaded it up but not yet tried a game with it.
It looks a lot like dos planets but is loaded with VPA's and I
think EV's functionality.

No Bane i have not......
I confess to having d-loaded everything from every site but it seems only for posterity :)

Winplan and I have a history of being competitive 90% of the time. All i need ocassionally is a specific calculator, ie sims. This all started from me needing to know how to configure what ship to capture chunnellers in SFB3 before we got our first rst.

As it turned out, my first guess was correct  As a Borg specialist so to speak, i find i dont need to watch my territory as far as planets/clans etc go as closely as others. Having said that, i dont want it all automated. I enjoy my close inspections every 4-5 turns

Lucky would agree that my universes seem like organized chaos, possibly running at 75-80% efficiency max. Mostly due to time constraints and the amount of games running at once

My style is not suited to all races, and i dont recall ever starting a game as the Rom/Gorn/Facists or Privateers. They are not as well suited to the SledgeHammer approach  No doubt those in SFB3 will be happy to read this, its my first serious attempt at the Romulan.

Come to think of it, best i shut up lest i make myself a target

The only drawback on PCC is that it looks a lot like PLANETS and not like VPA which i like much more.

Although i think a VPA version is on the works....
