Sins of a Solar Empire

Post by Six_Of_One » Fri Jul 11, 2008 2:41 am

Anyone here played this, or even heard of it.
I had the day off, the local games store was having a sale and i picked it up cheapish.

Has a web site www.sinsofasolarempire.com

Only got as far as the tuorials , graphics look excellent, HUD is well designed. Downside is theres only 3 races, but can be networked either local or internet.

Gotta go, next tute is starting

when you install it, have a look at the HUD.
Imagine vgap3 with that sort of HUD and graphics..... drool

i was very excited on that one too. and then again, i was very dissapointed when i played it. i find it too simple and the races to much the same. economy is a joke and costumizability is nearly not existent. so i still keep looking on a new homeworld and a new master of orion.....

but maybe you are preferring another game style and you like it. so Njoy!
have fun!

But i do like the graphics and the HUD

It's not bad. I bought it shortly after it came out as well. But I lost intrest in it after 3 or 4 games.

I still prefer Civ4.

Well, you've piqued my interest Six.
I'll probably be installing it this weekend after I get some work done.

Hmm, wonder if BitMask should have the game for ideas?

I don't think we get this game here in South Africa

I'll look at the online tutorials, but as long as you guys have it, you can let the ideas flow and post them.

Can't really see much from the website, but I can do features. I can't do graphics design (i.e create nice pictures from nothing :? )

I'm sure someone could make an ISO for you.

I don't remember if there was a reg code on this game or not. However even if there is it shouldn't be hard to come across one.

Color me ignorant, I've never really done it, but how are
interfaces / HUDs programmed now?

My last fiddling programming was with VB3 so I am way outta date.
