getting towed through a minefield

Hi there

I think I remember that an ion storm dragged me into a minefield and I hit a mine. That is ok.

But what if my ship gets towed through an enemy minefield? Will you still hit a mine? Probably not.

And what when the planet's warp wells pull you back to the planet, will that cause some danger of hitting a mine.

My answers would be yes, no, yes to these three types of moving. Any comments?

Cheers
Mika

I believe the answer to all 3 to be no.

Naturally if you get dragged into the minefield and then fly by warpspeed you might hit a mine. But as long you just go along with the storm you will not hit mines.

In the warpwell you only risk hitting a mine those LY you fly by warpspeed.

I think it already happened to my... at least the ion storm thing. Has been a while, not sure anymore.

And for the last thing. In webs that can be a problem. Also HYPing into a web into a warpwell. Warpspeed will be set to 0 and you fly 0ly with your own engines but the planet can drag you 2ly what can be enough for a webmine. So if you HYP with a heavy phaser falcon and you have 100kt fuel left for sweeping hitting a mine might cause a big problem. You lose 50 instantly and you get drained another 25 before you can move and that means no HYP back.

Mines cannot be hit except by the ship using powered movement.

Ship A tows Ship B:
Ship A can hit a mine, Ship B cannot.

Ship in gravwell.
If Ship moves in the gravwell above warp1, then Gravwell drags
ship to planet if ship remains in gravwell. However, Ship can only
hit mines for the # of LY traveled by power.

Ship in ionstorm:
Ship that is not moving by power but is being dragged by an ion
thru a minefield will not hit mines or webs.

Ship moving in ionstorm gets dragged will be checked only for
the powered movement travelled. So, if ship moves 1 LY and
gets dragged 36, the ship is only checked for 1 LY movement.
