That depends on if someone gives me a ship...

Well, if you take the Birds, you've got em.
That's one of the things that is of interest to me about birds.

So, Havok,
Which races have piqued your interest?

Cherek,
I don't know...depends on whether or not I'm the target!

Not sure now. The Birds were what I was thinking of. My goal was to play a race that wasn't one of the traditional carrier races. (Robot, CoM or Rebs).

I didn't think the Birds got the Sunbuster by default. In fact I found nothing in the docs to say they do. Fascists get CORE torp and Xtals get Sunbuster...so unless Cherek will be so kind as to provide me one long enough to 'reverse engineer' the plans.. I won't be able to test it. It would be nice to test the cloaked ATM with a sunbuster.

(Unless ][avok can set the Birds to have it this game for testing purposes)

You sure that the Romulans don't have the Sunbuster? I thought the Tholians took it off a passing Romulan ship?

Damn I missed it completely...looks like I gotta whip those scientists and production engineers into shape in time for the test game.

Wonder why Shardin never crushed the Feds with that?

at 5000MC a piece they weren't cheap, plus he was having fun with firing the CMs while cloaked.

Questions
1. Can the SunBuster be turned ON or OFF for the Romulans?
2. If YES, should the Romulans have the SunBuster and the ability of firing CMs while cloaked by default?

Sunbuster and Coretorp are available to all races via configs.

AFAIK, default settings:
Crystal & Bird have Sunbusters.

Settings options:
Yes... they have them.
No...they don't but can acquire via trade.
Never...can not acquire.

IF a sunbuster can be fired while Superspy, then IMO,
the birds should NEVER be able to have them.

I thought they cost $8000.

You may be right, I knew it was high. I just knew that the way my economy was in WC I, I was thinking about building one right before the game ended. So I never got a chance to build one.

Don't quote me but I was thinking around $4500.

I think the last game was $5000 by default they are $8k. I disagree with you on disallowing the birds from having it if they can fire while on super spy... my reasons are:

1: Unless I'm mistaken you have to be in orbit of the planet you are using SS on...you don't fire it in orbit, it would kill you too.

2: Lets say a DW has built a sunbuster. Unlike regular torps/CMs you don't fire a bank of them...especially at 5K a pop, one gets fired.

3: That one torp stands a good chance of being shot down by the planets defense system...the better the defense the better the odds it will be shot down. It is not a garanteed thing.

Besides, by default they have them. Birds had em first then the xtals got them...

I'm game.

If we find that SS+Sunbuster is too much, we turn it off.

Let's test it.

I still think the fighter per bay rate has to be turned down, since it totally ruins the day for the empire.

Has there actually been a discussion about the bugs and glitches in Fhost?

For me, it was impossible to fetch mcs to the same planet from different sources.

I hadn't heard of that glitch. THere is an area FHost Questions and Answers >> Issues and Comments about FHost were settings and other thing was talked about.

How do you see lower fighters per bay helping the Empire?
Offensive/Defensive/Both?

First thing that I see happening in that situation would be that
beam tech & beam count would become more effective and the
overall impact of fighters would diminish.

There are a couple different threads where we've discussed problems.

I never tested fighter gather missions as SB+ was far more effective
as I pointed out in another post.
