The FABULOUS help thread

Having grossly underestimated Antimatter Missile Launchers, behind in both economics and military strength, I surrender my forces to the Robots and Colonials.

Well played, gentlemen-- best of luck with the next game.

Having said that, do the other races also wish to surrender?

What, just when I'm starting three more Launchers?

hint for the Feds: Quack away, and a 10 missile volley will hit your homecluster.

I do hope the Feds also surrender, and give up their second place in the scores for the end-result of this game.

Anyone who even remotely knows what's going on in this game knows Rimstalker truly deserves second place. If Tyrion does not agree with this statement, I'll happily continue the game and prove my point.

I believe Tyrion has already given up the game. If need be, I am willing to vote both Donovan an Rimstalker as first and second place winners of the game-- it's only a matter of time before they achieve total dominance in this version of the Echo Cluster.

I don't know if people need to post a reply stating that they voted and what they voted, or if at some point we're just going to count the votes and base it on that?

I for one have not voted yet.

As a side note, the victory conditions state that the goal of the game is total Domination-- i.e. one victor.

At the moment I would vote Donovan the winner of the game (mostly due to his run away score).

So far, five people have voted. Nine people are in the game. Looks like we're going to see at least another hostrun?

And I second Jonny's vote to name me the winner of this game

maybe we should gun it out?

I'm pretty close to you in carrier count, and a lot more of yours are spacejunk than of mine :P.

But as long as 2nd place doesn't go to the feds, I'm happy with Donovan as winner.

Even though that makes the one ally rule a bit strange.

How long do you figure it would take the two of you to change the relative positions of fed & bot?

two turns?

please also note that I have invested about 60k mins and 120k mcs into Launchers. And that I have more Golems than the Fed has capital ships.

I have commented about this before, Havok said something about ITA score defaults.

This is the ITAscore config for this game:

Code: Select all

(-h000)<<<ItaScore>>>

No Fighters
No Mines
Torpedos: * 0
Ships: / 12
KTons: * 1
Starbases (Doom bonus is: 'N')
  Defences: * 1
  TechLevels: * 7
Planets (Special Bonuses are: off)
  Base Bonus: 15
  Defenses: / 7
  Resources: / 12
  Distances: * 15
Planet Valuation is: Zone
   4 zones are 200, 400, 700 and + LYs
      for 1, 3, 10 and 3 points
Two turns ago, the Feds had a sharp rise in ITAscore without any change in the normal score. My guess is he invested in base defences and/or techlevels.

This is the normal score at turn 93:

Code: Select all

                              STAR CAPITAL
RACE SCORE PLANETS BASES SHIPS FREIGHTERS
 Colonial 12617 123 83 140 27
 Fed 9541 77 70 36 11
 Robotic 9290 72 65 76 10
 Cyborg 7077 63 50 44 7
 Bird Man 6998 54 50 45 8
 Empire 5757 48 42 23 7
 Crystalline 1308 12 7 34 8
 Fascist 822 18 4 16 2
 Rebel 731 8 5 5 1
 Privateer 270 3 2 0 0
 Lizard 20 2 0 0 0
Take into account that bases are worth exactly nothing against Rimstalker and myself, and you see the real balance of power. Colonies can take down any base from 162 lightyears out, using only 110 fighters. Also, between Rimstalker and myself, we have 26 antimatter launchers ready or under construction. Those things are quite effective in taking out bases, too.

Either way, it's just a matter of time.

Speaking of math, one more thing to consider:

For games that go beyond turn 100, the Ascore multiplier is 1.5.

Very well. A few more turns then. How about we try out a few ship battles without hiding behind the viral fields or the launching of Antimatter missiles? I already recognize Donovan and Rimstalker as the winners-- let's let the galaxy go down in flames the old fashioned way by blowing crap up.

If you're game, I've already placed most of my fleet at 1120,1153. I can bring more to the party. What do you say? =P

I have 34 Golems, 5 Biocides, you have 48 Virgos, and 3 of my Automas.

And you have way more xrays than I have.
