Back when my nick name was "but Dad", I had banned earlier versions of GTA in our home. Although I have no one to protect now, I still can't bring myself to rent a copy. Still, I am curious....

Where does this game fit? Is it more of an action-adventure gendre, or an RPG? :-k

Kinda both.

It's open ended and you can go at your own speed. There's a central story and tons of side quests to keep you busy for a long time.

GTA4 also has online play so you can have deathmatchs, co-ops, etc.

started Playing the game today, Xbox360 version.
Didn't think I would enjoy the Live portion of it, do more of that than the Normal game play.
Very different than Previous Versions, and for the better.
Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference.
The US Marines don't have that problem.

I may finally break down and get a next gen console now that GTA4 is out... It's going to be a year before the PC version becomes available. DF's swear's by his Xbox 360...

Told you GOOD GAME.
Right now, between, Assasins Creed, Elder Scrolls addon and GTA IV, I have very little time for other gaming.

Nice concept............. except for the interference from the wife type being i cohabit with........ i get into enough drama with gaming on the pc, i would be pushing up the daisies in no time flat if i was to connect a console to the tv

My wife is envious of the time I spend on games too. I'd spend more time sitting with her watching shows, but they bore me.

Curiously, I'm more tolerant when watching the grandbabies programs. Anyone up for a Dora the Explorer marathon?

Or it could be the implants have re-awakened the 4-year old inside.

BTW, does anyone else sing along with "The Wonder Pets"?
