Win7 beta is no longer available for download at Microsoft.com. Still waiting to see what they are going to do about RC1.

I think I still have my ISO's for the 1st release of the 7.0 beta. Will look after work and will put on the FTP site if I do.

Do you want 32 or 64 bit Six?

I have the 32-bit.

Sure wish my VGAP apps would run on 64- bit, that is the reason I'm not using it.

Just found my copy of Win7 64bit and it's just over 3 gigs. I don't have enough room to put that file on the FTP area.

However, the build # is 7000. So if you can find that via a bit torrent site, you'll have the official release from MS and not one of the many hacks floating around.

The file name is:
7000.0.081212-1400_client_en-us_Ultimate-GB1CULXFRE_EN_DVD.iso

I think the XP mode is universally 32bit.

I guess I'll have download both versions. The 64 bit to see if Winplan will work in XP mode, if it doesn't, I'll still have the 32 bit on hand. =P~

I'll probably download them both as well. 64bit installed to my quad-desktop and the 32bit on my P4 laptop.

Win7 beta didn't have the XP mode in it. XP mode was a "special feature" to be released in RC1. I have the 64 bit version of Win7 beta, too, but I couldn't get WinPlan to work so I installed the 32 bit version (talk about being addiction to VGAP).

I downloaded both versions of the first beta, but only installed the 64bit on my big box. I haven't installed to much on it though. Dreamweaver is probably the biggest program. Fiddled with the MS Essentials (don't waste your time) and put Trillian on there too.

Everything is going 64bit at this point. I imagine this will be the last version of Windows that has 32bit support.

I believe that is true. I'll be keeping a 32 bit version on a drive, just for WinPlan, unless someone comes out with a good alternative for WinPlan that runs on a 64 bit OS.

Sorry guys, but i don't do windows any more. I have left the Evil Empire and joined the Rebels to fight for freedom from faulty operating systems :P

Mind you, once i get my head around QEMU i will be installing windows OS's but just for fun, and possibly some retro gaming.

I cant thank the Linux Gods enough for Ubuntu and its OS updates at no cost
I also thank the person who invented the synaptic package manager, who would of thought you just type in the program you want and this little bugger just goes out to the web, gets it and installs it with no fuss. Even puts the link in the right place on the menu's.

32 bit or 64 bit, who cares ??? i know i don't because nothing i do on a pc would stretch a top end P3 nowadays. Winplan certainly wouldn't nor does email and surfing the net.

Yer yer, i know. i've jumped on the bandwagon, am wearing rose coloured glasses and am worse than a reformed smoker........

:P 8)
