Having a wierd prob w/ Java VGA Client, any ideas guys?
Posted: Thu Apr 21, 2011 1:54 pm
Hello all. Im having a wierd prob getting my game client making valid TRN files. When I send em I get this message back-
"PLAYER:= 9 REG:=WINREGISTED
Error! Player: 9
Reg key error
Player is using a cracked reg.key file
**** ERRORS FOUND!!! ****
ErrorLevel = 3"
Ok in order to have Java VGA Client reconize my reg code I had to copy 4 files (including one called fizz.bin) from winplan to the Java VGA Client dir..No big deal, but it only works the first time. After that I have to unpack the RST in winplan and copy the fizz.bin file (that winplan apparently modifies) over again in order for JVC to make a good TRN. Winplan and JVC being on two different computer makes kinda a pain in the ass. Anybody have any ideas.? Is there some way to get JVC to update the fizz.bin file? Hell, I dont even know what it does..

Fizz.bin is critical...
Not sure what to tell you with JVC though. Bitmask will be back in a couple of days. You can also try writing the author of JVC Lars Dam

Did you follow the instructions correctly:
http://www.jvc-client.com/jvcdocumentat ... stallation
Using a scram21.ole, VPH35.DLL and reg.key in your jvc directory, plus a fizz.bin from a real winplan played game directory in your jvc game is what it takes.
To be sure i suggest that you play a real turn in winplan to verify that your reg is ok. After that you copy the first 3 files in your jvd directory, and then fizz.bin to your game directory. Before that delete all old fizz.bins and the 3 registrations files from your jvc directories.
You could use jvc in your winplan directory, but i suggest that you keep jvc in parallel, so not to mess up winplan data,just in case.

Yes, I copied the reg key files as directed on your docs from WinPlan as well as the Fizz bin. I have allready played and uploaded a turn with the Winplan and it works. But WinPlan doesnt work on my nice new computer, w/internet, that JVC runs on (In wich it works great on for the most part). It just doesnt modify the fizz.bin file like Winplan does. I have to unpack the new rst from the old computer running winplan and copy the modified fizz.bin file to JVC's work dir before it makes turn. I can not have JVC in Winplan's dir, the two programs are on different computers. Is JVC normaly supposed to be installed in the WinPlan dir? It's npot a big problem. I know how to work around it. I really aprepeaciate the help, tho. If ya have anyother ideas Im open to suggestions...BTW what information does the fizz.bin file collect? I see that WinPlan modifies it every time I just unpack and open the game. That is all I lack for JVC to makturn. Thanks again for the Help, I owe ya,

Jvc only reads fizz.bin - it only contains static registration information. When winplan writes the fizz.bin (which it does at every maketurn), it sort of re-writes the static information with a different encryption key (which are in scram21.ole and reg.key afair), but the information is the same.
Jvc needs this information to make a turn, but does not really need to re-write it; So jvc uses the scram21.ole and reg.key to read the encryption key so it can take out registration information from fizz.bin which it can place in the trn file.
Thus these files needs to be grouped together and winplan needs to write the first fizz.bin.
Usually i would recommend to have jvc not in winplans directory - if this is wanted, then let winplan unpack rsts, do turns in jvc, and then maketurn from winplan to make sure everything is ok.
Having jvc in its own directory works fine as long as the described structure and setup is followed.

As long as winplan opens a copy of the rst, I can copy it's fizz.bin to my other computer's JVC dir. I guess its not that big a deal... JVC is the best client I have found tho. It really rocks. I have a thing for custimization and JVC has got that in spades. That and all the add-ons, as the scale of the game gets bigger, you just have to let some things get automanaged. Thats when I imagie it will really earn it's keep...Thanks for the help, tho. If I can ever return the favor don't hesitate to ask. Anyway, take it easy man.

No problem, and thanks for giving it a chance. For future 'support' just email me privately for faster dialog at: firstname.lastname@example.org
(this goes for anybody else too...) - i have stopped developing on it as there isn't really any big requests for features and my time has become sparse. I do keep support on it though when people ask.
