The "** BAD TURN FILE **" issue

Post#1 » Wed Sep 06, 2006 3:40 pm

If you ever happen to receive a ** BAD TURN FILE ** message from your host with a checkturn output similar to this

+++ERROR!!!+++
Possible cheating
RACE: 7
Planet ID: 133
Duranium from NOWHERE!

+++ERROR!!!+++
Possible cheating
RACE: 7
Planet ID: 133
Molybdenum from NOWHERE!

you got two chances to react right.

1) Get panic and scream at your always friendly host for emergency help. He will stay cool and pointing you towards solution No 2, which goes:

2) If you haven't already done so, go to Stefan Reuther's page, download PCC, install and run it on the game in question, go to the Planet-screen, of course the planet in question. press "ALT-R", choose to reset Goods and Missions (which will undo all commands for this planet since you opened the RST first time), re-do your commands for that planet with the client of your choice, make your turn file and send it again... voila, there you go.

Thanks Havok, thanks Stefan.

Tanascuis will also undo all commands for a specific x-y co-ordinate, planets, ships and starbase.

Tanascius can be found here http://www.tanascius.com/

It also has some nice simulators, Auto builders and Auto Tax tools builtin. :P
But If you use a real client like JVC you don't need an extra tool to do all that :roll:

Actually #2 should be #3 and the real #2 should be to go to Stefan's Player Utilities page and download the "CHECK" program.

http://phost.de/~stefan/playutil.html

Check is command line driven and you will have to use it in a DOS prompt.

Put the program in your game folder and run it with your TRN file. 8)
