Cloning

This may seem like a fairly elementary question but if you don't ask you don't learn.....

Is it possible to clone ships after the ship limit is reached, and if so, what is the best way to do it?

Thanks in advance...

The short answer is NO.

Further information on the subject can be found at. http://www.xs4all.nl/~donovan/help/categorised.htm

Donovans helppages are very good and answers most questions.

If it is a PHOST game, then the answer is YES.

Is there a special way to do it in PHost or just have the FC=cln and make sure it will be prioritized?

In PHOST, cloning is part of the normal ship building even after limit, nothing special to do other than prioritizing your SB's.

It is possible to clone after the shiplimit, but only under very strange circumstances. A lot (and i mean A LOT) of ships have to be destroyed, but bad things can happen... Like a massive, superstrong ionstorm wiping out a whole armada of hissers.

YOU can get in a clone after a Killrace, lots of opening happen then, late in the game, but even then it is REALLY hard to do as everybody has a ton of ships in the que, waiting as well. As for the ION Storm in WC2, the Gorn is facing one RIGHT now, its called THE ION storm of WRATH. Builds lousy ships, and then all those freebies from the Empire, I almost want a few more turns to keep blowing up everything he has. GRRRRRRR
