Randmax & Randgen Questions

Perhaps one of you can tell me where I am going wrong.

Using VPA as the client and no other client is used
I am not currently using Randgen.

Windows XP Home Edition SP2.

randmax.exe is in my c:\plan1 folder.
The randmax.ini file is in my game folder (c:\plan1\37)

To execute randmax from the plan1 directory I type

randmax c:\plan1\37 from the c:\plan1> prompt

Randmax then displays the following in the DOS window:

Initialize from the ini-file >>randmax.ini<<Now>>c:\plan1\37
Meanings "-" no order, "." own order, "0" 000-order
00Runtime error 204 at 0000:56C0

Nothing happens in the game. No taxes. Nada.

I've tried a number of variations of the ini file including the sample one that comes with the program but all of them product the same result.

Thanks in advance.

Olyrin,
Did you ever get this problem resolved?

Sorry for the VERY late reply.

No I didn't get the problem resolved. I set the utilities aside in favor of manual planetary management for now but I'll probably revisit the utilities in the future.

Which version are you using?
And did you try letting Randgen generate the ini file for you?

Else, I'd contact Thomas Voigt (current author).

It has been about a year since I tried. I reinstalled everything since that first post due to a problem we had in NF7 so Randmax & Randgen are not even installed.
