should not matter at all. the one who finally kills a ship gets the points. you dont get points if a planet does the kill. those are the only restrictions i know of.
have fun!

Mine damage has no effect on PBP acquisition in vcr combat.

Check to see if you're blowing ships up and then getting builds?

Do you use them up by building ships?

What about the scores, do others get PBPs?

Directly from the VGAP Docs. This leaves some data out, like the Mine hits or destruction via planet mentioned in earlier replies.

--------------------------------------

PRIORITY BUILD POINTS (PBP)

The normal ship build queue can be bypassed using priority build points. After a priority build ship is built and then the queue continues where ever it was before the build.

Every time you destroy 100kt of enemy starship hull you earn 1 PBP. Ships under 100kt count as 1 point.

If you have more then 20 PBP's you get to build new starships before anyone else with less PBP's than you.

Every build make or every clone you make will cost you 1 PBP per every 50 kt of hull that you make. Ships under 50 kt will cost you 1 point.

If you have more then 20 PBPs you might be able to both clone and do a normal build at the same starbase at the same time, if your PBPs don't drop below 21 during the builds/clones.

You get 1 PBP if you set off a glory device or destroy a ship to colonize a planet.

PBP's are not used until there are more than 450 ships in the game

PBP's are not used until you have 21 or more.

It bugs me that you burn PBPs when there are still less than 500 ships in the game. Not sure why that's in place.

It was put in place to reduce massive PBP batteries that were being
built by players prior to the shiplimit to control the queue after the
limit was hit. Hordes of bases building w1 sdsfs, colonize, ad nauseum
till the limit and then after.

If you think slot hording/ queue stuffing is bad now, it used to be worse.

Speaking of which, I'd love to play another game where the number of ships depends on the number of planets you're holding. Prevents build-queue clogging and drives ppl out of their defensive stasis.

the.Ant,
Did you get to play in one of the SOSS games at RCWorld?
I wanted to but time constraints kept me out of the latest runs.

I wonder if the simple solution to the shiplimit and slot hording /
queue stuffing is instead making starbases vastly more expensive?
Phost4 supports this option and for clients IIRC VPA & PCC.

Bane

That simply disadvantages most races except the fed/gorn and borg.

I think ppl have an unhealthy preoccupation with Q stuffing. Over the last 12 years i have yet to have it impact on any game i have played.
Q stuffing is a matter of opinion,

The crappy ship list justified
-Fed......... super refit
-Gorn.......hisssss
-Rom...... oops, no justification so they will whine
-Facist......D19
-Priv...... all mbrs are cheap
-Borg...... probes and fireclouds
-Crystal.... a bit like the Rom, but you can tow your web layers around
-Empire..... crappy H-ross to store free fighters ...probes for dark sense
-Robot.....crappy ships to build fighters
-Rebel......Falcons and geminis
-Colonial... geminis

Every race can justify building crap ships that they can use, and they should be allowed to.

Build all the Crap ships you want, that is fine.
I see Recycle and Colonize as the same function for ships, you don't get pbp's for Colonize you shouldn't get any for Recycling.
There should be a way to allow SB's that blow up ships, and PBP's

You get 1 point when you recycle or colonize (3.22.025 or older) a ship.
The line below is true.
The line above is false.

Earning Priority points
There are a number of ways to earn priority points: ship-to-ship battles, recycling your own ships (only recommended in some cases, certainly not as the main way to earn priority points) and using Glory Devices:

Recycling a ship, regardless of it's mass, earns one priority point.
Killing an enemy ship in ship-to-ship battle earns one priority point for every 100 kilotons of enemy hullmass destroyed, rounded up.
Exploding your Glory Devices earns one point per exploding GD ship.
If the Glory Device explosion(s) blow up enemy ships, this earns one point for every 100 kilotons of enemy hullmass destroyed, rounded up.
Destroying enemy ships in planet vs ship battles does not earn any priority points. Colonizing a ship on a planet does not earn any points either.
