Now that the Fhost games have started, I am NOW hesitant about posting here, until after I do something good. Don't want to alert anybody.
Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference.
The US Marines don't have that problem.

I will respond to any question where I have learned by trial and error, Testing or from somebody else. I am just hesitant to give YOU and DF any heads up on what I have learned so far

FHost is a poor name for the addon *Fhost*
It isn't a host program at all.

Fhost like other addons adds new functions to (Tim)Host.exe.
Fhost adds long range combat via
Advanced Fighter Missions.
Advanced Torpedo Missions.
and others.

PHost= (P)ortable Host.
PHost is just what it says it is, portable between different platforms.
It is a complete from the ground rewrite of the original (Tim)host.exe.

PHost has:
A different combat engine called PVCR which replaces VCR.EXE from
the original game. Weapons arrays can be up to 20 beams and 20
torps or fighter bays. Planets can have torpedoes.

In PHost due to differences in coding and OOE (Order of Events), the
game plays somewhat differently than the original.

PHost like TimHost works with all major player clients:
DOSPlan, WinPlan, VPA and others.

That's a quick summary.

BANE, thanks for the quick summary. :) I would have have gotten a little looooong winded if I would have done it.
The line below is true.
The line above is false.

Fhost was designed by the Author to play with the original shiplist.

It can be played with any shiplist AFAIK.
