Continuing the last post in the other conversation......

....No Crystal, I don't have to bring anything. I only have to Transmit from SB to SB and stockpile at strategic locations. This is going to be a long, painful war but I relish the challenge, and my ultimate victory!! :?

Yes the SB transport feature will help you a little bit but I think that your 6 x V12 engines are major gas guzzlers and I look forward to borrowing them from you. I'll return them to you once I capture your flagship.

The first batch of Robot ships that I captured only had Tech 4 torps on them. Would you mind putting Tech 8 torps - it its not too much trouble. It will match with the rest of my fleet and make it easier for me to reuse them :P

So Mr. Priv and Mr. Romulan - if you guys can please move out of the way I have Robot mines to sweep!

Enjoy

Tech 4 gives you the most bang for your buck when making them big robotic minefields.

Amen, why waste money on tech 9 when a full tech 4 Cat can make two 150 LY wide minefields and get back to refuel while another heads out to keep the minefield full. The Cats I've started engaging with have tech 9 beams, and tech 4 torps. The best combo against the Crystals. Wish I have ships with more than 6 beams, oh well I can deal with it by pumping loads of Gollums into the breach.

It will be interesting how this rumble turns out. Honestly I wouldn't mind if the Privateers/Birds stick around and made it interesting but I understand how frustrating it must be not being able to move effectively. The Privateers will cause you pain and lots of lost ships until you overwhelm them, while it can be impossible to find the Bird Capital ship.

Still a lot of game play left.

So Mr. Robot - are you enjoying the benefits of my lovely web mines? They are pretty addictive as I see many of your fleet are taking advantage of our fuel replacement feature. Nothing will clean out your fuel lines like our Crystal web mines.

Please be aware that I can't capture all of those ships at once - I'm going to have to make a few trips. If you are patient i'll get your entire fleet.

Look he lives! Geez I thought you had died for a while there given how boring your game strategy was! Although you've taken advantage of the last "End of Game" exchange by moving your ships into Bird territory and trying to cut me off, fat chance. I'll park Goloms over my border planets and transfer fuel to them then wait for your scary Battlecruisers. Come and get them buddy, they wait patiently for you....... Come tiptoe through my minefield tulips! Fuel I can handle, fighters you can't.

You call my strat boring - I call it efficient. I've got you by the neck and I'm squeezing the life out of you. Every turn my web mines inch deeper into your space and more and more of your ships become floating space trash.

I think you severly underestimated the power of the web mine and overestimated the effect your robot minefields will have on my fleet. Most of my ships have 8 or 10 beams compared to what? 6 on your golumns? It's like you brought a knife to a gun fight my friend. My ships have everything - deep cargo bays, unlimited fuel (thank you Colonials for your fuel making ships), buckets of minerals and money.

Both of our economies are in top shape and with transport feature it helps both of us get materials and money to the front line. Only difference is that I can sit in your minefields and sweep em forever but you can't say the same about mine [-X .

You're playing an aggressive invasion style game but it is severely backfiring against my web mines. You can't sustain your current losses and are effectively battling against 3 opponents while I am really just focused on you. My Orion friend is like a cornered cobra and I'd much rather fight you than him because against Orion I will actually lose ships.

You have to remember this one fact - I don't have to kill your ships; I don't have to steal your ships - I just have to run them out of fuel in my web minefields and they are effectively out of the game. Each message I see where your ships are floating space trash means 1 less ship for you.

So onward we go - hide in your planets and start your defensive style of play (that will drive you nuts all by itself  ) - back to the epic minelaying battle for all ages. Robot vs Crystal in a winner take all battle!

I'll prove that Web mines should be outlawed. They are completely unfair in combat and especially against the Robots.

Wow what game are you playing? You have only captured 2 of my ships and they have been minor ships with crappy engines and torps. You sure are proud of yourself for a couple little victories, I on the other hand won't be happy until I crush you under my cold chrome boot.....

It is not hard laying minefields and moving through your fields as you can well see. With the ability to transfer minerals all I have to do is sit and wait for you to attack me, your webs are irrelevant when I tranfer 10k neutronium every turn. My Gollums hold 2k so I'll wait you out, and while I sit there I fill my SB full of fighters and defense posts. Have fun taking those. Come and get them, I can wait.

Another tactic I'll share with you is that I'm building Neutronium Factories on the front lines with tech 10 beams. They will keep filling my front line ships so I can transfer fuel to other locations ad nauseum.

Would you please hurry up and move on me, I'm getting bored racking up points waiting for you to do something.

I'm moving as fast as I can - I have a lot of your ships to collect and I'm sweeping your minefields at a pretty good pace.

My advice - hold steady I'll collect all of your ships as quickly as I can.

enjoy the game because I am

Opps, something happened to the game. It wasn't suppose to stop. Crystal do you still wish to go on? It was just getting good and I was rolling through your space in an unstoppable whirlwind. I know you are scared...

Do you wish to continue the game and run into more minefields? Please say yes!!

Per the poll I ran last time the game ended I gave the game 25 more turns. Looks like you've reached it.

I want to keep playing - sorry to my Priv friend because I know it has to be very boring for him but Robot actually thinks he has a chance to win this game. I'm proving him wrong.

I just collected another 2 ships from him - and that last Instrumentality was really well built. Thank you for building it to my specifications Mr. Robot.

It's not a fast paced game but its a hell of a minefield struggle and the Robots don't realize that they are being pushed back each turn - when they finally wake up to this fact I bet they will beg to end the game. Until Robot cries "uncle" I'd like to continue to steal his ships and crap web mines all over his space :-)

My suggestion, Havok - is to put another 100 turns on the game counter for this one. I don't think it will take me the full 100 turns to get Robot to surrender. Probably more like 50-60 more turns. Once I start taking a few of his Golems he'll realize the truth soon enough.

I vote for 50 turns. At that point the Crystals will be so beat up and limping it should be easy getting him to quit. I welcome his lame attempts at taking my space and planets, its fun watching him limp back to his planets and repair damage while my Goloms move closer to the front and Merlins create more and more fuel.

Lets get this rumble started!
