The Ryder Cup

The Europeans would like to challenge the Americans to the ultimate contest

The Ryder cup of Planets

If its anything like the Golf, it will be an easy victory for the Europeans

Basic rules:
You must be American or European
Last team standing wins
Add ons to be negotiated
If there are 2 teams of 5 we will leave the Privs out

Any interested parties please say so now

Robert and Hennef

We could nominate an American Captain and then he picks his team

I suggest Shardin

Yours

Robert

Im hoping the Americans can sort themselves out

PS As this is an invation by us, we will have the final say on the game set up, BUT EVERYTHING IS NEGOTIABLE AND AS LONG AS BOTH TEAMS AGREE THERE WONT BE A PROBLEM

All ideas will be considered

wouldn't that be too depressing for the US boys?
Well, they have Bane and...

ok - they have Bane. Period. ;)
(I know... a poor way to try to lure you into that game)

it depends on the setup but basically I would be interested if you want me in the European team.

i wanted to say the same Mika, stop being faster than me ;)

i would be very in for that, i have already some ppl in mind - well, for the europeans of course. maybe the american team can form up around casebolt :P

why leave the privs out, rbert? better leave the cyborgs out, or at least disable chunneling. it is too much of a tactical bonus with 2 big teams.
have fun!

Why leave any race out - let the picks sort it out

simple: there is a tactic against any tactic or special ability in the game. but there is a HUGE mayor advantage for those who have the chunneling on their side. if you disable chunneling, then the cyborgs are ok too.
have fun!

As this is my baby, I will have to make the final decision if no one agrees

I can see both sides of the argument about the Cyborg

My personal belief is that it is too far of an advantage for one team

I was thiunking of having one team down each side, using the addon "spher"e. That way everyone is close to the enemy. Any thoughts?

How about using addon "Jumpgate" Comments please?

It's no secret that I'm no big fan of too many add-ons. Jumpgate is one of those. Being everywhere at any time takes out some of the strategic part if you ask me.

Of course it is up to you but to have an opinion too I'd say that chunneling is off, the privs are out and the only add-on is sphere. That still gives everyone enough borders to secure. And not having a certain race to help is also a funny thing. It adds a bit more strategy to the game.

But you should also start thinking about the map. Will it be a random map? a sepcial one? IMO a random map is fine. Just place one team on the left and the other team on the right side. Not hard to do and still no space to hide with sphere.

Yes, that seems fine to me, unless theres anybody out there that definately wants the Privs.

I think with 5 players that can move 162 lys per year is unfair, so im tempted to leave them out

So at the moment we have:

2 teams of 5 and if we dont get the interest 2 teams of 3 or 4

Each side to be on one side of the map

only add on Sphere

Not sure of finnishing conditions. IU would prefer a set number of turns (no less than 100) Comments?

There might be a problem on which side picks first!!!
I was thinking in the real Ryder cup, the home team picks the course that best suits them, so who ever picks first in this game will pick second in the rematch. Unless anybody else has a better idea?
