Short or long?

I don't know about all of you, but for me the most fun is in the first 20-30 or so turns when you're seeking out your enemy, building our empire etc. How would you feel about a game that went 40-50 turns max on a medium circle, maybe with a rich universe?

Personally?
I like games that have short time frames, like a ~T65 limit.
I prefer limited objectives which lend themselves to such shorter games.

That sounds very much like a Half Pint game on Starbase, very rich start, 250 planets and only 6 races. Tends to last 60 - 70 turns, great for trying out new races, as the action starts pretty quickly.... (sometimes, unfortunately...)

Perhaps Joe would like to start something like that here?? My biggest problem with that scenario is there are no pirates.....
