I think a turney like that would still be running the Next Presidental Election
Not if the games were limited to say, 50 turns, like someone mentioned earlier.

To do a 11-game/11 race round robin, you might want to run
about three games concurrently per player to speed it up.
Granted, the last round would be two concurrents.
(unless I'm clueless and that is possible!)

Ok, things are clear now.
So 3 games per player, 50-60 turns, running daily.
That could be finished in 2 yrs.. CRAP texas scored.
Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference.
The US Marines don't have that problem.

Right, for a tourney where the player had to play each race:
To get it done in any reasonable time frame, it'd have to be
probably three concurrent games:

If 11 players in tourney for simplicity:
11 games:

Player A gets:
Game 1 Feds
Game 2 Liz
Game 3 Bird
etc.

Player B gets:
Game 1 Liz
Game 2 Bird
Game 3 Fasc
etc.

So, each player gets a different race in three different games at
the same time.

That would make it:
50 turns for round 1 being done in 17 weeks at 3x/week.
50 turns for round 2 = 17 more weeks.
50 turns for round 3 = 17 more weeks.
Total 51 weeks = 1 year.
Understanding is a three-edged sword.

their side,
and the truth.

Hey guys............sloooooooooooow down...

Twas a light hearted suggestion
You could also do a tourney where each player submitted their preferred top 6 races. Could be played as round robin with minimum 2 games being played at a time.

i've got a great idea too: one plays against ten players, while each time the player does one turn, anoterh opponent does one, but only one. so after ten turns the opposition has done 1 turn each... they are all in the same game! awesome! and to top things up and even the odds, each 10 turns an armada of Antarean Doombringer Titans reach down from anotehr galaxy to strike a random planet of the player. What do you think? We could make that game last 100 turns and see if anything happened at all :P
have fun!

Somethings to consider folks.

For such a tournament to take place:
There would need to be someone willing to setup and manage
a tournament host site.

As I know Havok has his hands full already, there can be no
expectation of him picking up that job.

Also, unless someone coordinated the few remaining host sites,
the player base is IMO too small to run a tournament.

Sorry to be the wet blanket.

I was just going to say had anybody bothered to ask Havok if he was willing and/or able to fit this in? Sure seems like an awful lot of planning not to have checked with the guy who has to set it all up...

Well, that is why I liked the race builder 1v1 idea. You could run a tournament with as little as 6 or 8 people, since each game would be a 1v1 match
