Alpha Quadrant 2.0 Released!

I just sent ][avok the new version of AQ. It was originally supposed to be a minor re-tool to try and accomodate the mysterious "exploding mineral dumps" that have plaqued my shiplist mods, but after reviewing my "to-do" list, it grew. Warpedboard did NOT help at all when he released his WPVCRHelper, which allows modification of the WinPlan VCR icons.

(Seriously - it is a sweet little development tool Warpedboard - thanks again!!)

In a nutshell, here's what's new in AQ 2.0:

- Trimmed back the number of carriers for each race in an attempt to limit "exploding dump" errors with newer versions of HOST.

- Added custom AQ WPVCR.DLL file for Winplan VCR

- Rearranged ship slots to optimize for RACE+ and LUKERS add-ons.

- Fighter bays have been removed from most tugs and several generic fighter transports have been added to most races.

- Added a ROMULAN-specific Tug, and 2 ROMULAN ships have their class names updated.

- Minor adjustments to ORION and THOLIAN ships.

- Revised MAQUIS shiplist to address carrier and TUG weeknesses.

Specific changes can be found in the AQ 2.0 README file.

Hope you enjoy, and as always questions or comments are welcome!!

Havok,

Where do I find these new files?

Thanks Klauser I have been looking forward to this update.
Just cause I am paranoid does not mean they are not out to get me.

Gavan,

][avok just got the files last night (here in the States). I imagine it'll be a day or so before he gets a chance to post them.

If you just can't wait, PM me and I'll send the files your way directly.

Edited for spelling.

It will definitely be this evening before I can get it posted online.

Had some car problems after work yesterday which prevented me from posting it sooner.

Me Three :)

(Gil convince your "friends" in No Frills 59 to end the game and you will have more time to play AQ )

I prefer to look on it as being inconvenient and annoying. The "evil" part was just a coincidental perk!

Another AQ is a tempting proposition.

Just an idea, maybe adding One Ally might be worth considering.

Thoughts?

This is a bloody good idea for the Wallabies - with 30 players they might actually win a game!

Now you know why I said I wasn't upset that you have Robbie Deans as your coach - and that we have the better man.

Deans is a VERY good Super 14 coach, but the jury is definitely out on whether he is a good international coach.
