"No Diplomacy Game"

Hi Havok/Players

What about a game witout diplomacy. A game where you will not need to spend time on considdering alliances, negotiating borders, Naps. etc. As no such is allowed. Get your race and start fighting.

All enemies, no communications between players in or outside game, no change of shipnames (no ship name at all is ok). No FFx or ffx.

Highest score at turn 100 wins.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am aware that it is not that long ago Havok set up games, and many of you are at your game limit at the moment. So the above is more a inquiry of players being interested in "No Diplomacy" games.

If enough are interested we might convince Havok to set up such a game next time he set up games.

Added a poll to keep it simple. Running for 7 days.

Captain Blood

Check out the specs for the previous Bell Tolls Games here.
I think two of those have been run.

It would depend on the setup. For the Klingons to survive such a game more firepower is needed. I'd be interested if it included Tlist and Raceplus.

But I'm already well past my game limit.

I only found one, I thought a 2nd had been run.
Yup, try game 136... :D Was a really good game, and I'd be keen for such a game, but I'm currently at my game limit, so maybe in a few months time?

PS ][avok, the HoF for that game (BT2) still needs changing - 1st Rockhard, 2nd Hawkeye, 3rd Darkmark. Rockhard got to 100 points first, I was just ahead of Darkmark in points.

You canot get away from team games, you all are just talking :poop: .

If NAPs. and ship swapping is allowed then nothing is different.

Those games looks different to me for a couple of reasons.

The scenario goal is different, but most importent I would assume diplomacy to be a large part of those games.

I was suggesting a "No Diplomacy Game".

I agree completely!

Also why I suggest "All enemies" no communications between players in or outside game, no change of shipnames (no ship name at all is ok). No FFx or ffx.

This simply sounds like a game with the 'no allies' addon. My game of preference.

Capt.Blood,

Here's a link to the welcome post for each game.
Further back, I would guess that you could find that the
whole point of these games was zero diplomacy.

Bell Tolls 1:
viewtopic.php?p=18796#18796

Bell Tolls2:
viewtopic.php?p=24634#24634

The reason I mentioned them is that they include specific addons
to do some of what you are wanting.
For example, X-Name removes ship names.
DelMess removes all player to player messages.

Hi Bane

You are correct, those games included the no diplomacy programs I was looking for.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding the scenario goal in those games, I still believe it have some sort of unspoken diplomacy. Once you are behind, attack the "point leader" at all cost. Hoping someone else will do it is rarely lead to victory. :)

All games naturally have such unspoken diplomacy, but they can be more or less complex. With the scoring system used on this host, I will considder highest score one of the most open scenarios.

Ideally, a completely blind game is what you're wanting.
Game conditions are declared up front, but who is in the game is
kept secret from all players. The larger the pool of players and
the larger the number of games that are blind naturally makes it
harder for any player to find out who is in what game.

Blind games are more involved for a host than what Autotroll
normally supports.

I'd be interested in such a game but there's no way I'm joining another game right now. Already in four and one's a daily destruction so yeah, kinda busy.

Ok I see what kind of game you are driving at now.

I would be interested in joining something along these lines.
