Before I let myself get too excited about playing again, any idea what the schedule will be when this goes to 2 turns per week? I just managed to get myself tied up Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. Not a big deal in the early going but it could be tough getting turns in when the game gets more intense.

Would there be any interest in a weekly game?

Cheers

3x week are Mon\Wed\Fri
2x week are either Mon\Thu or Tue\Fri depending on how the admin feels and what the previous games are set at (we try not to run all the game on the same day).

If either the one or the other works better for you, you can request that when we switch to 2x. It should not be a problem.

It looks like the host time is going to be 8:20, so Tuesday-Friday would probably be better. Thanks BM!

Just remind us again when it is time to set to 2x week which days.

Thanks - I appreciate it. Now if we could just get started. If I remember correctly, iblis has a habit of being a bit slow off the mark...

Greetings,

this is my first vgap game after a very long time pausing
so I have to search all corners of my brain to recall everything ( I hope I do)
The planets xy for example... I made a new instance of winplan and overwrite the xy in the winplan main folder
is this right ?

Before I made the first turn I suddenly was confronted with the fact that I own 4 licensed copies of winplan but ALL on floppy disk ... #-o and my pc do not have floppy anymore - So I bought a usb portable floppy drive
but the 16 bit installer refused to work... I copied the data to HD but this only worked out for ONE of the 4 copys
But.. allright ... I am ready to go

Just be prepared for some question about things I have forgotten

Never override any data files in your planets folder. That should be kept as the default files.

Rather copy all files you receive with your turn (Like the xyplan.dat map file) to the game folder (e.g. c:\planets\vpwork1 for game slot 1). If winplan does not find the data files in your game folder it reverts to the planets folder which should be the default.

If you need to have custom BMP files per game, just make one for each game (BMP1, BMP2, BMP3, etc.)

This way you do not need multiple copies of planets all over the place. Only exception might be with the Alpha Quadrant scenario, where they suggest otherwise when using the resource.pln file for VCR (Although not needed, but nice).

Perhaps also look at the Winplan32 bit client. It has many enhancements to the original and comes with a new BMP set.

PS If you need information regarding playing and rules I suggest you look at our sister site. http://www.donovansvgap.com/ on the Help Pages. If you are playing a PHost game, then look at http://phost.de/phost4doc/ instead. Everything is there.
Or else ask the very smart people in the forums :)

thank's a lot for the advises.. I read a lot on the Donovan Page and will try out the 32bit Winplan
It's working with one of my reg keys for Winplan ?

A lot of people from where I work ( I told them about VGAP) are curious and like to play
Is it still possible to get a REgistration Key for Winplan ?
I found a site which is selling REG Keys for 10$ via Paypal * http://thewarshed.com/vgapkeys.html *
But I don't know if they are serious or just "draining money for hot air"

Sorry for beeing in parts Off Topic :?

I don't believe those key's are legit.

You can purchase a key directly from Tim Wisseman himself. Just write him at cocomax@aol.com or you can use BMT micro's site.

Here's the link. https://secure.bmtmicro.com/ECommerce-OffSite/00191/
