Building fighters in space

This may be a daft question.

I'm playing Robots and I am using version 3.6.63. I am wondering how you build fighters in space. For other races in other games I have used the friendly code lfm, but this doesn't appear to work.

The fighters are built by having the materials on board. The "lfm" FC just beams the appropriate materials up from a planet - the ship then builds whatever fighters it can from the beamed up resources. So if you're in open space or over a planet that has no moly, for example, "lfm" won't do anything for you.

For the Robots and Colonies the minerals need to be available AND the mission must be set to Build Fighters.
For the Rebels to build fighters in space, the mineral must be available. Only the Rebels can build fighters without the mission.

See - that's what happens when a Klingon tries to give advice about fighters. We don't need no stinking fighters....
