Welcome to Brass Tacks 19

Brass Tacks 19 is basic default VGAP game, using PHost + TList1.1 shiplist. Game runs 3x week until turn 25, then 2x week or when all turns are in. Highest score at turn 100 wins. The game has no diplomacy restrictions.

Mods: Teleport.
Map: Custom Wrap map.
Homeworld: Random location.
Extra rich HW, Random normal planets, Very high pop. Very high money.
Starbase @ HW with 2 ships (warp8).
PHost 4.1f.

Quite unfortunate. I'm "playing" the birds. My key was derived from manually registering the game using the registration code printed on my 3.5" disks I still have from the 90s.

Not sure what to do at this point...

Did you perhaps install one of the previous Winplan32 versions using the setup.exe from dropbox?

If you both have never installed Winplan 32bit from the older setup.exe from dropbox and you have only installed the Winplan from diskette with license, you should both contact Tim with your details. He will be able to help. Use his cocomax email address.

It is a possibility that I may have installed Winplan32 on the XP VM I've been playing with. I don't recall. If that is the case, is there something special I need to do? Some way this has tainted my install?

I'm back home this weekend. I'll do a complete fresh install and submit a turn. Hopefully that works.

At any rate essentially missing 5-6 turns isn't going to cut it for me. Even if it works, I'm not interested in starting off at such a disadvantage. I very much apologize for any inconvenience this causes...I was quite looking forward to this game.

It is indeed interesting as Coronel and I are playing in another game without issue.

Follow the install instruction from here

It will guide you to use your original key with the newest Winplan32 which should solve your issue (Use the New Installation option)
From the log file it does seem like this is your problem, so using your correct key will fix your issue.
