Bad Things Happening

Hi Havok / Bitmask,

Can one of you two take a look at the host logs for this turn please.

I found a number of these messages in my turn.

205 credits
have been discovered to be
counterfeit! The colonists
are very upset about this!

Our duranium dump has
EXPLODED!

Our tritanium dump has
EXPLODED!

I also had a ship set to build but it did not and is no longer set but all of the parts are still in the SB ready to go.

Thanks

Gavan

We're on turn #7. Has anyone else had any problems thus far?

BTW Gavan what client are you playing your turn in?

I am using the 32-bit version of Winplan.

Well there might be strange things going on, but I'm not quite sure.
Almost all planetary ore in the core is growing rapidly. Never saw such behavior before....and I don't know any game setting which provides growing material core... There are no meteor showers reported...

Take a look on the game configuration.

Code: Select all

 Isotope Trans-uranium Mutation rate 50
Default value for TUDR = 5.
But I agree with you. It seems that in this game the growth of minerals in the planet's core does not correspond to next formula:

Code: Select all

New_minerals_in_core =
   Trunc((TransuraniumDecayRate * Mineral_density + 50) / 100)
But in this game there are too much other absolutely crazy (in good sense) settings.

Code: Select all

Engine tech boosts shield power % 10
Mine field sweep range (LY's) 25
You already have decreased the maximum mine field radius to 75 LY.
And you are serious want sweep these small fields from distance 25 LY?
E.g. following settings is great advantage to the Borg:

Code: Select all

    Free Starbase Fighters
 The Borg 5
Climate limits population NO
And I don't know what sense in increasing tax rate for the Ferengi:

Code: Select all

    Tax Collection Rates
 The Ferengi 150 % ***
if this race can use RGA to increase natives happiness and already has a gambling ship.

Take a look on the HCONFIG Settings:

Code: Select all

Send Meteor Messages NO
And maybe next settings could explain rapid growth of minerals in the planet's core:

Code: Select all

   Meteor Impacts

Odds of small meteor impact on all 75 %
    Minimum Neutronium 1000 KT
    Minimum Duranium 500
    Minimum Tritanium 500
    Minimum Molybdenum 500
    Maximum Neutronium 2000
    Maximum Duranium 1500
    Maximum Tritanium 1500
    Maximum Molybdenum 1500

Havok,

As it seems to be a problem that only is effecting me I will set the same ship on the SB this turn, send in my turn and see how it goes next turn.

Gavan, take a look at Stefan's Check tool http://phost.de/~stefan/playutil.html
I suggest you run this one before you send your turn in each time just to make sure.

Done and it checks out. =D>

Checking:
Spec file check : succeeded
Ship range check : succeeded
Planet range check : succeeded
Orbit flow check : succeeded
Space flow check : succeeded

Turn is OK.

I guess we will find out after the next host.

Well nothing bad happened this turn but my ship that I set to build did not build. (Parts are still on the SB)

Strange. I will try to build something different this turn. (Anything in the host logs?)

Well I was able to build a freighter this turn so that is something. (Not going to take over the map if that is all I can build [-o< )

Now it struck me.
I've got three messages: Our full dump has exploded!

The planet's population and natives get eradicated to 99% percent factories and mines got destroyed.
I'm about to quit this game. This is no fun at all...

Sounds like you did not extract all the custom shiplist files to your game folder?
