Ok, a 20 beam ship in a timhost game is not going to happen, would love it for some races, but not going to happen. Now the can see any robot ship with torps, and give it 4x minelaying. Can the game change a recharge rate?? ie, on klingon ships there beams take half the time to recharge? Would be a race advantage, and then it would mine tweaking a few ships instead of major changes on, shared hulls.

I think it was Rimstalker that mentioned that Phost allows recharge
rate changes.

Timhost does not.

I am not sure though, if the rates can be set for individual races. Maybe in Phost4, will have a look...

The recharge rate can be set, but only as a general value (the beams themselves have their own recharge rate, which increases with techlevel). Plus it can be influenced by "experience", which is one of the main new features of phost.

Hum - I was pretty sure that the hightech beams in phost fire faster, but cant find any proof of that right now.

while discussing the bird-cloaked-frighter i remembered a picture of a military klingon frighter :roll:

what about a rather large armed frighter for the fascists? use the little pest slot (who builds it anyway?) and make it a 6beam heavy troop carrier. 500 cargo and 250 hull. they will not be stopped by mines or small ships. but they must be stopped before they reach your planets :P

i forgot about the second version you created. right, that is pretty much the same. i had a different picture in my mind that would not blend with the shape of the d7a ;)

well. now we have the new troop carrier d7a, the useful valiant wind and agreed on a change on the deth specula (slightly more hull and cargo).

are we adding some beams to the d7 too? i vote yes. then we could leave all the other ships as they are. thorn being the small deth and little pest being a stupid something :P

I like the idea of the Race advantages, the Borg changes are the only ones that don't make sense. Better fighters?!?!?! Ships are easier to take over in combat?!?!?!?!

I like the other ideas for the different races.
