So make it more like a Qtanker, no beams, no torps( Iknow the Q has a FB) and add more cargo to it? So it would be more of a Gambling/Pleasure ship.

Exactly. Just a little more cargo, I think. Bump it up to 200. Putting a third engine on is probably just a waste, really. It would add a bit to the cost, but not much.

why on earth the 3rd engine???

why do you want to make it stupid and without sense. it is a privateer-ship. of course it has weapons, because gambling is illegal in the cluster buster and the fed-police is always after them... it makes a nice minelayer if needed and it has 4 beams, just because everyone has. it needs fuel to cruise around endlessly and make more money.... well it actually never moves much in my fleet, but i have seen others....

a bit more cargo to make it more atractive as fundraiser
have fun!

Its not a Pirate ship, its a CofM ship the Pirates Stole. I agree that the 3rd engine isn't really necessary, a bump in Cargo would be the thing to do, as its a pleasure ship, a decrease in fuel tank is the correct thing to do as its not a fuel hauler but a PLEASURE SHIP. I wasn't agreeing about making it a Qtanker, but was just quoting. Why a Pleasure ship would need, to be heavliy armed is up in the air. As a fellow Pirate, there are ships to make up the difference in the Pirate Fleet.

Sorta off topic amusing and enlightening history of 3.0-3.2

Lady Royale has always been a privateer ship. This ship has been a
staple of the privy fleet from 3.0 prior to it ever becoming a casino.

Time for a bit of history:
CofM changes from 3.0 to 3.2
Cobol ram scoop (free fuel)
Cobol bioscan (find the good planets)
Aries Adv. Refining (more easy fuel)
LRoyale Casino (free money)

Those changes were implemented because somebody close to TimW
complained about how outmatched the colonials were when in fact this
particular person was just getting repeatedly spanked by a vastly
superior Bird player.

Boning of the Birds in 3.2:
Loki decloak (later changed)
Ion decloak (adv.cloak added later)
Superspy Ion Pulse
Glory Devices
Damage prevents cloak
Cloak fuel burn
(I'm sure I'm forgetting something)

Advanced cloak was added later in 3.2 due to the birds becoming the
race that nobody played because they were broken. They became
known around the VGAP world as the weakest race in the game. With
Cloak fuel burn, the birds became incapable of fighting the way they
are supposed to. Imagine burning 24 fuel a turn to cloak your DW.
Prior to Adv. Clk, The DW had a 3 turn range. Why do folks
not build the bird fleet outside of Scout, Res and DW?, cloak fuel burn.

What did the Birds get for all that boning?
Cloaked Intercept...an excellent addition, but not worth what they got
hit with...and I love CI!

Have you noted that in Race+ the birds get that ridiculous EGG on
a ship (bright heart) they won't build?

The Cols got what? Fighter Gather/thieves? (free minerals)
See a pattern?
In 3.2 and Race+ the Cols got a mountain of economic aid because
they were/are a favorite race of a particular player.

BTW, that Bird player was Black Troll for those that remember him.

If the Lady was built first by the Pirates and then added to the CofM fleet. Then the HUGE fuel tank makes alot more sense and is justified.

Why? The CoM have the Cobol to fill up whatever the Cobol tows.

In the 3.0-3.15 days, it used to be that any time a veteran saw 1-3
fuelless privy Lady Royales, they knew it was a trap.

Wow. Way to miss the entire point of his post.

Shardy seems to think that the LRC shouldn't have huge fuel tanks if it's owned by CoM. If it's owned by CoM the size of the fuel tanks is completely immaterial. It could have a fuel tank that holds 100000Kts and it wouldn't make a lot of difference. It would probably never see more than 10Kts of fuel and W1 engines.
Any CoM player building LRCs to move fuel is smoking crack. For just the reason you mentioned. Though you'll rarely find my Cobols towing anything. Build enough LRCs and you don't have to worry about the cost of your engines.

I may have misread what Shardin was saying about the large fuel tank on the LRC, but we do agree on that statement. I'm headed back the the Tholian forum before I go to bed.

What I was saying about the LRC, is if it was originally a CofM ship, there would no reason for it to have a 670kt fuel tank, as they have the CCR. Now if the ship was originally a Pirate ship, then the 670kt fuel tank makes sense the Pirate race would benefit and would be expected to make a ship like that. I thought part of this was not only work on the shiplist to end slot fillers but to have ships that made since to the race. The LCR is ship slot 42 and you can't change it for one race and not effect the others. Now I can go back to the garage and finish putting in a Subaru 3.3 engine into my Syncro Vanagon.
