No allies

Hi everybody, I've got a question.
The game features "No Allies" add-on. I assume, it prevents rst exchange through autohost, and prevents setting alliance codes. It doesn't prevents however the regular negotiations, informal alliances, e-mail rst exchange... perhaps even ship trade is possible? Do the rules of this game prohibit such activities?

Its an interesting question.

I've seen a lot of debate / differing opinions on this site and others regarding this.

What I wish it WOULD mean is zero co-operation and zero informaiton sharing. However, as you point out SS, there are several levels of co-operation which are not preventable.

It would be good to get a consensus for what no-allies means for this game as I would hate to be going it 100% alone only to find other races are co-operating, in whatever form.

The noallies host addon prevents any kind of alliance via in game commands.

In the spirit of the game, I would request that players don't try to find a way around that. There can be only 1 winner, (via tonnage) and anything other than first place is loosing.

This doesn't mean you can't talk to each other, trade, etc... But everyone's primary concern should be winning.

So, trade and other cooperation is allowed by the rules. Yet, I would suggest for all the players - let's forbid ANY cooperation. No trade, no negotations, nothing. Naturally, it would require the consensus of all the players... and it is kind of unenforsible,,, but I believe that we do trust each other ?

I would be happy to go with your suggestion SS.

NO cooperation of any kind is as clear as it gets and will hopefully remove any confusion. As you said no trade, no negotiations, no sharing of intel, etc, etc.

Stop posting and get yer #@W^*# turn in fletch.

As already previously posted, I enter Noally games as a solo player and I prefer zero communication with each other regarding intel and zero co-operation, zero ship trades ad finitum.

I was born in the year of the snake so I guess I can trust you. I'm a wood snake actually, which makes sense when you consider i'm a horticulturist. I guess that means i'm a GREEN snake.

no - i have not been drinking.
