Has anyone run VGAP via wine on linux yet.
Currently reading wine docs to see how to install windows based programs. Can't be rocket science............. can it

I've considered the same, but haven't tried it yet either.

How rude :P

anyway i remember reading here somewhere, sometime that vgap can be put on a thumb drive and run of it. All thats required are the .vbx files (thread/gauge etc).

So now i thinks, if i put those in the vgap plan 1 directory and right click on the winplan.exe in Ubuntu, chose the wine option, maybe that will work.

Or do i need to trick it by creating a windows folder, and inside a systems folder and put them in there........... after all how smart can vgap be.

Just curious, has anyone compiled the vgap floppies into cd format.

I copied my floppies onto my HD. When I created PHost directory, I installed it straight from my HD, so copy all the files (there are no hidden files) from your floppies into a single directory on a CD.

Hope that helps.

I've done something similar to Cherek. I keep a copy of VGAP Dos & Winplan (from disc copies) on my thumb drive that's always with me. If I want to setup a game, I can do so in seconds.

Sometimes, I use to do a turn at work from time to time. Recently, only certain thumb drives are allowed in our computers at work (and they are monitoring USB drive access), so I haven't be able to do my turns at work. I still keep the files up to date, for just in case.

We've started to have some issues as well. I can't run VPA anymore on certain machines, but have no problem with say PCC. Wish I could bring my laptop in like the old days.
