It was the last thing I did before I went to bed. I thought about it the next day at work and realized how crazy it was, but by then, Shardin had posted. Don't worry, we decided to remove 2 two beams off the Emerald and leave everything else about it the same.

hahahaha lol

There's no way the Gorn should have either monster.

hehehe, pleaaaase [-o< O:) =D>

The Gorn needs that like the Tholians needs minelayer with a cargo of 1000.

so very true ;)

small adjustments could be:

- no real use for the serpent-scout . no idea what to change.

- the saurian has only a very limited bonus over the lizard (longer range) but tech 7, fewer cargo, fewer hull and one less torp-tube makes it a rare sight. give it more beams, more cargo, more anything. just MORE!

- the madonzilla has only marginal useabillity. only if you fight large carriers and have few ressources but much money they make sense..... few ressources? right, when does that happen? :P
it needs one more FB.
The serpent scout is an excellent hisser which can be built at low hull tech starbases, kick-starting the lizard economy.

I would like to see the Maddy with a couple of extra fighter bays.

Saurian is of no particular use to my mind. i agree that if it had more beams, there would be a reason for building it - and a reason for wanting to build it with it being a tech 7 ship.

I have to thank Donovan for saving my old pages:
http://www.xs4all.nl/~donovan/museum/bane/p2fleet2.htm
8)

See link why I don't think the Serpent, Saurian and Mado need fixing.
If they're given more, they become too much.

The Mado is dirt cheap and while loading is expensive, the Lizard has
cash and minerals.

Adding 2 bays? A cheap 4b/7 bay Lizard Automa?

na. i am currently playing lizards in daily destruction. the mad is ok. but nothing more. it shifts the favor in battles against the carriers slightly to your side.... perhaps, that is just wat this ship is meant to do. it IS holy moly cheap though!!!! :D

the range-bonus of the saurian you mentioned bane: my lizards get anywhere they want! i have 1 saurian in game. the other game i have zero! but 1 million eroses, Ts, lokis and lizards.... plus a handful of reptiles and mads.....
have fun!

From 4-6 Trex down to 2 max to kill a carrier?
That's a huge savings.
Thus the MADO is worth 2-4 TRex especially important after the
ship limit where you can keep the MAD for reloads.

Like I said above, I could see giving Saurian a couple more beams.
Range is generally a less compelling reason to build.

As for Serpent.
I almost never build them, but some love em.
Give me the Eros...2 engines, terraforms... nuff said.

If you've noted, across these shiplist / change suggestions, I limit
what I think should be done.

Sure, I could design "dream lists" but then we'd have "clone wars"
Everyone would have basically the same thing.
That IMO is not a good end result.

I think one of the endearing things about VGAP is the shiplist
that forces people to think about how they're going to deal with
any given situation. How are they going to figure out the most
cost effective way.

And then sometimes, you just have to pay the piper.
IMO, often the payment is to the big carriers because the torpers
didn't do their job early!

1. you are right. i ran some other sims.... it´s just, that the quote is especially tricky against virgos, which i am fighting atm in daily destruction. try it. the rush is a piece of cake in comparison :) and against the BIG ones you truely gain one ship..... everything without engine-bonus!!! ES shifts the bonus towards the MADs even more!

2. i agree! the changes should not make "dreamlists". but i think we have some nice changes already, although i feel the interest in the topic was very short-living.... :(

and the longer i play the fascists the more i see their strenghtes and weaknesses.... same for the lizards here.

so, the changes i would make come down to the saurian: give it two more beams or two more torps or make it a 4/4 fighter-carrier.

3. YEP! learning from mistakes....need to be much more agressive still :P
have fun!

It's more like a general thought, but I always was wondering why the cold blooded Lizards would want to cool planets down rather than heating them up with the Bohemian.

they have tiny brains, so they didn't think about it when they stole the plans from the Feds.

also, too hot will kill those lizard eggs, too cold will keep them fresh longer

Don't the diff. temperatures have an influence in if the eggs hatch as male or female?
Perhaps that is why they want cooler planets 8)

Thank the gods, cause 50 turns of smart lizzard terraforming might end up in a much too overpowered Hisss:
