Mine's having a tough time... The game is buggy. In fact it's the buggiest game I've even seen produced from Firaxis... I've had to drop the graphics down from Direct-X 10/11 to DX9. The game is slow, and in later stages of the game it's almost unbearable. I've also experienced several freezes and many more crashes... Plus they force you to join Steam which I never wanted to do. IMOP they released it to early. They should have held off another month. They still could have put it on the shelves in time for Xmas.Akalabeth wrote:I don't think my computer can hack it, or starcraft for that matter. But I'd like to check it out. Looks better than Civ IV. I played the demo for civ iv and the combat turned me right off.

All the game sites love it obviously, they would never dare speak against Sid or Firaxis. I guess that's a good thing in a way considering there are fewer developers taking a risk on PC games today.
Still reviews on forums an communities like civfanatics seem pretty mixed. I saw that they removed religions and alot of cultural aspects. A friend said it plays alot like Civnet and another said it's like Civ2...
Having played it awhile now what's your take on it? have you tried multi yet? Did they include a simultaneous turn function?
Assuming I get the ok from the wife I'll probably grab it this weekend. Problem is she knows that she will lose me for awhile following.. "another civ, great this is gonna be just like the last one and Starcraft and that Europa universalis game". I said well on the bright side it'll be q great time to catch up on your reading in peace.
