VPA 3.66 beta-5 released

Hello,

brand new features, mainly for display and mistake checks.

Please give any feedbacks if something lacks...

+ Common Mistakes added: Check 'trg'/'pop', Build Base, no construction on starbase
! Shows if a Starbase might be built (Minerals+Cash on Planet and Ships)
+ Shows PlanetYnfos, aka Minerals and Money on Planet (Shift Y)
+ Shows Navtives at planets (Shift N)
! VPA.MSG bugfixed

Nice additions, specially the show minerals and natives on planet. But... :) instead of a circle i would like to see numbers, like the amount on ground, and the rate. And on the natives i would like to see the amount of money i will get with safe tax, or growth tax or a 20% tax (to give an idea if it's a good or bad or medium money planet).

Circles for me don't say much.

I know this creates some problems in terms of space around the planet to show things.

I will see how I can realize this, the circles just give a good overview and do not disturb too much. mostly you lack only one of the minerals, the others are turned off anyway. Ok, to add the number in not too difficult, to go in deep:
Radius = square root of amount. so 100kt will be radius 10, 900$ will be radius 30 and so on...

Hm, to implement some kind of randmax can be challenging - since i do not have the sources.

How do you like the look and feel of the new "Shift N"? - maybe i can toggle some more information here.

Shift-N looks good and you can put more stuff there. The trick you do with the planetID going up is a good one.

I would like to see the amount of mcs received with a 20% tax (or configurable) , rate of minerals/quantity on ground (in K so that it doesn't occupy much). Maybe they can be shown in a line , toggle on/off in the config?

You don't need randmax, just the formulas for the taxes.

ok, so this will be like a prediction of the next turns economy (new minerals, new supplies, new cash, and maybe max cash to 70% or 40% happyness), did i get this right?

Nope. The purpose is to look at the map and tell right away where are the best planets.

It would be a static information, most of the time. The income would vary and the ground values but not the rate, for instance.

Ok, I understand - quite hard to bring that into a nice game design.
maybe i can toggle to circles from ground and core, so that you can see how many minerals are in the core. the thicker the line, the higher the density.
same can be done with natives and governments.

I don't know about the other people reading this, but i've never get used to it. Echoview used that method and i never was able to use it properly. But i'm just one, and you are the one developing :)

Can you implement something similar to teleport viewer?

It's the only addon I use at the moment next to VPA and PCC2.
Basically, it checks the FC of all bases and planets on which bases will be build.
And the creates and overview of of what is being send where.

Maybe it's a long shot, but it could be a nice additional feature.

Nice tool, did not know it before.
Well, not too hard to implement, althogh the Planet-Display is already very overdone.

But I already have an idea...

true words... be curious...

any suggestions?

i am not a fan of whole pages (like F6) - the look an feel of the teleport viewer is nice - but i like to implement the teleport into the prediction (i.e. construction prediction). let's how that works.

I could imagine something like this:

One line per base in which you indicate how much of what is being transmitted or received.
But I think getting an overview like in teleport is also nice, as it will allow you to see which bases you are forgetting.

Though that part could be added to the "Common Mistakes" list as an option.
List every base in a game in which teleport is being used which is not using a teleport FC.

Yes, that looks ok - i will see how i can integrate it.
Btw, the view is already done.
Now i try the interface...

The idea is not so bad, but hard to solve correctly.
Not every base uses teleport, some need to have PBx or ATT/NUK etc.
So a display where things are transported, or from where they come from is not so difficult, since i have that already written for the line display.

But:
I need a easy way for the interface. Choose the right bases and the right things, still pay attention that not every base can receive everything etc..

Maybe i just need to play more games with teleporter... then more ideas will uprise.
