If host finds an inconsistency the player is considered to be cheating, and will be hit by the Tim Continuum. This corrects the amount of resources and imposes some penalties, which can vary from ships being flung across the galaxy and planetary fueldumps exploding to the plague hitting a player's planets.

The Tim Continuum is known to sometimes strike unjustified if the host's computer has hickups during the running of the Host program or turn-files get corrupted while being e-mailed to the host. There is also a possibility Winplan corrupts your turnfile: " If you open the Planet screen, then opened the Starbase, Build Ship, Select Beams, then focus on the Planet Screen again and pressed the "+" key to move to a next planet." Winplan will then use minerals and money from the other planet to build parts on the starbase, something the Tim Continuum will strike at.

This mostly happen when the shiplist files on the client does not match what is on the host.
Make sure you have the 5 *.dat files in your game folder that you receive with your turn.

If I copy all 5 .dat files into the game directory I get the message "main data files have been tampered with" and the way I have solved this is to reinstall winplan. so I have only copied xyplan.dat and my rst. Any suggestions on what is happening. I have no problem with my other games. I am running planets on Windows 8

Hi Den

Thanks for the explanation. The problem is that you need the other dat files and not only the xyplan.dat (the map).
Just to make sure, these are the 5 shiplist files you need to copy to your game folder (e.g. c:\planets\vpwork1):
BEAMSPEC.DAT
ENGSPEC.DAT
HULLSPEC.DAT
TORPSPEC.DAT
TRUEHULL.DAT
