To continue, or not, that's the question.
To continue, or not, that's the question.
I was wondering if people still want to continue this game. It started poorly, suffered from drop-outs, and the awesome idea of people being able to hire independents totally did not work out. For me, the fun has been out of it for quite some time, and now I just spend hours per turn doing my part.
If everyone else is feeling the same, let's find greener pastures.

Yeh, let's end it.
Re: To continue, or not, that's the question.
I've send an in game mail to players to come vote here.
So once the stall situation is removed, let's see if they do

Re: To continue, or not, that's the question.
There are already 5 winners in this game:
Fireage - outstanding borg performance. Was able to read my plans every turn (my tin foil hat didnt work)
Darkclow - my nightmare of a crystal
akshamu - playing til the (bitter ?) end, "against all odds"
Ymir - building up a huge battleforce - I am glad I was not your neighbour ...
albatross - The most optimistic player in the vga-p universe ... thank you ! I really hope we meet again (as allies) !

Don't sell yourself short, plenty of people around to do that for you

Re: To continue, or not, that's the question.
Guys this game isn't over. I had short pause for Ymir who had computer problems, that turned into a long pause. I apologize for any delay and he's going to have his turn in today.

Re: To continue, or not, that's the question.
Well, the time of the stalled game was just a coincidence. I felt several people getting a bit bored with this game. Only T1 team is still operational. Both T2 and T3 have had an ally drop out. The privateer dropped long ago. Crystal is under attack from T2 and T1, and though he seems to be holding up very well, it probably won't last forever
So that's why I created the poll to stop or not.
In game vote by the Lizard (Ymir), is to also stop due to being bored with the game after loosing his ally.
That brings the total amount of votes to stop up to 5 in favor, 1 not voted yet.
So I think we can end this one, unless player 6 really wants to keep going, as most are willing to, just not going to enjoy it much.
I'll join wmerkel in saying that there are really no winners in this game at the moment. But if we keep going, either me or the T1 team will win. And as I had a "bit" of a favourable start with the increased tax rate of 200%, I'll gladly give my vote to the T1 team. In addition, I can easily be blocked from winning, as there are enemies on all sides, and only 50% of my planets are "based up".

Re: To continue, or not, that's the question.
Guess I should have read the whole thing. The drop out's make it tough when teams come together on the fly instead of being planned ahead of time. I'll set the game to end on the next turn if everyone is in agreement.

Re: To continue, or not, that's the question.
I think this is a good decision (looking forward to see your development, FireAge!)
But one thing is not true: crystal will last long, I just got a bloody nose trying to invade there. On the other side, crystal has no chance to win, either. Why does he play so strong, but also so passive?
I am eager about more rumors and facts here ...

I simply have no place to hurry: ) . And to attack I have especially nothing, only your ships: ) .wmerkel wrote:I think this is a good decision (looking forward to see your development, FireAge!)

My answer "to continue game" but I will obey to opinion of the majority.
Re: To continue, or not, that's the question.
Ok, then it's 5 to 1, so unfortunately for you we will stop the game. I'd be very interesting to hear everyone's story once it's all over. How did you like the setting, good things bad things. I'll post a short playthrough myself once I find the time.
Re: To continue, or not, that's the question.
So, we put a fork in this one?
Re: To continue, or not, that's the question.
Not to push, but is it finished? I hate missing turns, but doing them for no reason is even worse
6 hours left on the clock.

Should be finished. I guess

As far as I am concerned I will follow everyone else's lead.
