Site shows a white page

What do you like about what's going on at Circus-Maximus.com? Or, if you're the whiny type, tell us what stinks! We may not fix it, but we'll listen...

Hi

Why is that sometimes the site shows a white page? it is usually in the games page
"Amateurs study tactics, Professionals study Logistics" in Red Storm Rising from Tom Clancy

It has to do with the way the Auto Troll works.
AT was created before dynamic HTML was invented, so it recreate the web pages and upload them with FTP with each change.
If a player sends in a turn, if a game host or if anything else change all pages relating to that change need to be uploaded from the host PC to the web server.
There is one page that changes with all changes and that is the games page that show turns that are outstanding or in.
Sometimes the host gets stuck on a Spam mail or it reach to upload limit for it's FTP account and then you will see the white page only.

It's AT.

What happens is that when AT is going to upload a batch of pages after updating them, it makes the connection to the FTP server, deletes the pages it's going to upload, then uploads the new copies.

If that process is interrupted or AT is freezes then those pages essentially aren't there until AT makes it's next cycle or is reset.
