Solar Federation

Federation crews are so skilled, that they fight as if the hullmass would be 50kt higher. Their people are so happy, that they pay double taxes. However, strict environmental laws reduce their mining efficiency.

The Federations can exchange starship components. This can be done at starbases, using the superrefit-mission, or during flight by activation code UFP. The needed minerals and money must be on board. The shipname must start with the initial letter of the wanted component, like "T" for tubes. Inflight upgrade is always one techlevel, but in orbit of planets with "special" natives, an upgrade to tech=10 can be done in one step.

The Federation regards itself as an economic superpower, not a military one. Therefore, several ships have been redesigned to carry more goods and less weapons. On the other hand, the Federation has suffered a lot of losses among their freighters from hostile races, that they now prefer to use cruisers with large cargoholds for transporting.

Genesis Device

Every Federation ship with at least 50 clans on bord can use the Genesis Device. This device changes the temperature of the planet to 50 degree, plants a chosen native race, builds 50 free structures, generates new minerals in ground and sets all density values to 100%. The limitations are: the planet must be unowned, there mustn't be natives, and the temperature must be colder than 21 or hotter than 79 degrees. The activation code is @XY, with X for structures and Y for natives [X: D 50 defenses, F 50 factories, M 50 mines;
Y: A amphibious, B bovines, a amorphous, H humans, G ghipsoids, S silicons, R reptians, I insects, V avians]

Natives joining Federation society

Natives are so impressed by the kind Federation government, that many of them choose to fully integrate into the human society. This does not apply to Amorphous Worms, and the native happiness must be at least 80. The Federations can stop native integration by setting a planetcode of S**, where "*" can be anything.

Changing planetary axis..

.. results in changing mineral density (not amount). This operation requires 200kt supplies and friendlycode RND . The new density is random, but there is a better chance to improve an average density than to spoil it.

Nocturne Destroyer

Small, but cheap and good armed.

Bohemian Terraformer

The Bohemian can increase a planet's temperature by one degree each month. If it's equipped with tech9-engines, it will heat up an additional degree. The 5 beams will better shoot down incoming fighters, while the tube will be able to lay minefields. 3 engines needed for the power consumning terraforming. Production costs have drastically increased because of huge demand for terraformers.

Vendetta Torpedo Boat

The Vendetta has been redesigned to be an agressive torpedo launcher with 7 tubes.

Nebula Class Cruiser

The Nebula is the workhorse for the Feds. A large cargohold, a big fueltank and a medium armament makes it an excellent multi-purpose ship.

Banshee Native Transport

The Banshee can transport natives from planet to planet. No other things may be stored in the cargoroom during native transport, and only full loads of 4000 clans can be moved. Natives can be loaded by shipcode LNR and dropped with UNR. Unhappy natives (<80happiness) can be stolen from other races. The government type of transported natives will generally decrease. Amorphous and Reptilians are impossible to transport.

Brynhild Bio Scanner

The Brynhild on a sensor sweep mission can report native life and climate of up to 20% of all planets in scan range.

Arkham Frigate

A medium cruiser with little cargohold.

Stronger than some other races tech=10 ships, but expensive in minerals.

Thor Frigate

A torpedo boat like the Vendetta, but with larger cargohold.

Loki Tachyon Emitter

The Loki can decloak any cloaker within 10 LY range. This ship can not decloak Federation, Lizard or Romulan ships.

Sweet Talk

Any Federation ship can persuade an alien ship not to choose hostile actions. Each ship has a 33% chance to be successful, so 3 Federation ships on the same mission would be always successful. To do so, shipcode must be set to SWT and the alien ship must be intercepted. Alien ships in orbit of Federation starbases can be forced to surrender (if starbase mission is set to). The Diplomacy Peace Maker is always able to sweet talk an enemy, you need only one ship of this type. Unfortunately, sweettalking to borgs is futile.

Kitty Hawk Fighter Transport

Starfleet Command has decided not to use fighters as offensive weapons any longer. So, the only Federation carrier was redesigned to be a fighter transport. 4 fighter bays have been sacrificed to increase the cargohold to 195kt.

Nova Class Super Dreadnought

Some races felt threatened by the extremely powerful Nova. As a sign of good will and peace, the Feds changed the specs of this game. They removed some weapon slots and enlarged the cargo hold. Now some aliens call it the best armed freighter.
