The Privateers

The Pirates are specialized on capturing enemy ships. For this purpose, their beam weapons are modified to kill 3 times the normally killed enemy crews. Pirate ships with beams can rob enemy ships. Some Pirate ships need incredible amounts of molybdenum for construction.

Anti-Genesis Device

Although it has not seen frequent use in the past, Pirate ships are still equipped with this "Scorched Earth" device. It turns (only!) unpopulated planets into unfriendly worlds habited by Amorphous worms. All you need to activate it is an Pirate ship with Warp0 and the FC -@x set, with x=1 for an arctic climate and x=9 for a desert world. Numbers between 2..8 will make the planet retain it's temperature.

Dwarfstar Class Transport

220 kt and a cloaking device make it a good Transport, but it is a modest name for a ship with 6 beams...

Skyfire Ship Scanner

The Skyfire can gather useful information about enemy ships, when setting shipcode to RID, warpspeed to zero and set intercept course to the enemy ship. The scanner range is 200LY.
Some of the cargo room had to be sacrificed for this long range sensor array.

BR4 Gravitonic Freighter

The Pirates value their gravitonic accelerators so high, that they desperatly wanted to construct a cloaking freighter with that technology.

Lady Royale Gambling Ship

The Lady Royale now has many means for leisure on bord. Each colonist clan on bord spends 1 MC/month in advantage to your treasury. The gaining of money from colonists works even on enemy planets if FC= Gxx (with xx anything). To prevent this from happening, the planet owner can set up martial laws by planetcode=xML (with x anything) , but this would drop the colonists' happiness by 25 points. The cargo room has been enlarged now to serve even more entertainment-hungry colonists.

BR5 Anti-Anti-Cloaker

The BR5 is equipped with gravitonic accelerators and a cloaking device. Beside this, the BR5 now has sensors to face the thread of anti-cloakers. The BR5 can detect LOKIs and D19Bs hiding in orbit of a planet, if the planet is within 20 ly. The detected ships are reported by vpl-messages.
There is a 5% failure rate for reporting LOKIs, but the BR5 will also tell you if the LOKI's Tachyon emitters are working or not.
The BR5 now has the possibility to "disarm" a D19b Nefarious Class Destroyer by simply using it's #id as a friendly code, and being within 20 ly. The friendly code of the d19b will be resetted, thus disabling pop/trg effectively.

Red Wind Propaganda Ship

Only few ships have been improved as much as the Red Wind. This cloaking carrier has now 5 beams and 5 bays. But the major improvement is the chance to make enemy fighters desert to the Red Wind. Set shipcode to SFx (with x anything),
and 0%..30% of the enemy fighters will desert. This can even be done when the ship is cloaked.
However, all these improvements came along with a reduction in cargoroom to 50kt.

Meteor Class Blockaderunner

The Meteor Blockade Runner is equipped with gravitonic accelerators . This means, it is twice as fast as a normal ship with the same engines. It has also installed the obligatory Pirate cloaking device. The MBR can tow other ships while being cloaked. Ship-code must be set to CLT and warp-speed set to 9. The Pirates found a way not to damage their engines during cloak tow, but the redesigned MBR is now much more expensive. During cloak-tow, both ships will avoid all mines of the towee's race - but you can NOT cloak-tow a ship belonging to a race you are allied with! The gravitonic accelerator technology requires huge amounts of molybdenum.

Bloodfang Class Cruiser

As a last attempt to make the Bloodfang a tech 10 battleship for mass production, the Pirates found a way to equip this ship with only one engine.
